The crash-proof motorcycle

Shepppard says...

>> ^coolhund:

Fake.
Very bad acting, CGI visible, bike is gone after "accident" and she actually says bicycle instead of bike or motorbike.

So, you're saying it's fake because she says bike?

Not, you know, the fact that during the entire video, he doesn't look right once, he couldn't hear the truck coming, and, this one strikes me as the biggest.. the fact that she says he's got a HUD inside his helmet?

I mean, even if that was possible, you'd think there'd be massive amounts of wires connected between him and the bike, or some form of powers supply.

also as mentioned, the *parody tag.

Lindsay Lohan in Court (Interactive)

What?? No!

I'm sorry, but I call TOTAL bullshit on the whole "this was supposed to be a b-movie throwback. This movie took itself WAY seriously. There is also a BIG difference between bad acting and tongue-in-cheek camp acting. Fuck Shamalan for tying to make it seem like this movie sucked "on purpose." It was shit and it just serves to show that he got lucky 1.5 times (six sense and half of Signs) and the rest of his oeuvre is just shit shit shit.

What?? No!

Not to justify that the movie was any good (I still haven't seen it) but all the bad acting, etc was done on purpose. Night assumed people would figure out the flick is an intentional B-Movie, first major clue being the cheesy title of the movie itself.

"Was this meant to be a B-movie?

M. Night Shayamalan and several other filmmakers, when shooting the film, stated that it was supposed to be a throwback on the 1950s-'60s B-movies, like The Birds and The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This can be seen on the "making of" feature on the DVD. Another reason why M. Night might've revealed the movie was supposed to be a B-movie the day before the movie came out is because he thought the audience would be smart enough to figure this out for themselves. While some did perceive it as a B-movie (see here) the problem lies in the majority, who expected it to be another horror/thriller."
..now what I'm wondering is did Ant downvote because he knows this too? lol

I'm not sure about this. I haven't seen it either but I recall seeing the trailer which gave no suggestion it was a B-movie. Given his form as a film-maker no one would expect that from him. What we do expect is some stupid twist at the end.
When I think modern B-movie I recall something like Tremors which did the job superbly.

Robin Williams Talking About Getting Owned in COD

budzos says...

Fallon's great at impressions and stuff. His little Jon Meyer song from Weekend Update in late 2003 is one of the funniest bits of musical parody ever. But just like Jon Stewart, Fallon ruins almost every single bit and joke by pretending to be cracked up by the material. If he was actually cracking up it might not bother me so much. But it's just bad acting which fails to manipulate as designed. Rather than making me laugh, suddenly I feel insulted, like it's been assumed I'm a simpleton. Indignation!

Wasn't it Fallon who played Robin Williams back in SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy days?

Team Fortress 2 Live Action Short

ForgedReality says...

Pretty good, but bad acting, some of the effects were lazily done (when he's carrying the toolbox at the beginning, there are bad cutouts for his hands and the motion tracking ain't great, the blood is BAD, etc), and the dudes mustache NEEDS TO GO!

-edit- oh, and yeah, like that guy said, the sentry needs to be blue...

Otherwise, make more!

Kurt Russel's Star Wars Audition

Bradaphraser says...

>> ^netean:
just further confirms that Lucas is a generally crappy writer/director who has just gotten lucky a couple of times.
a couple of times? Star Wars: ok, I'll give you that, crappy diaglogue, badly acted but fantastically good film, what's the other one, Willow, American Graffiti? they're the only 2 other possible contenders. Everything else has been a steaming pile of raped childhood memories.
If you say Revenge of the Sith, I'll reach down my broadband line and smack you so hard!

I thought Raiders of the Lost Ark was ok, too.

New Escape From City 17 Trailer

spoco2 says...

Except, after watching the first part from a while back, while it has nice camera work and lighting, good costumes etc. The thing that lets the whole thing down is... acting.

It's crap

The acting is abysmal and demonstrates why, no matter how much you think you can just get your mates in to do the parts, it will let the whole thing down. It also shows why good actors earn their money, without them films can have all the other components nailed, but still fall at the starting line with bad acting.
