So does anyone know if there was any chance that he could have missed the landing? Also these people are way underpaid. I thought all this stuff was cgi these days.
Here are some of the biggest fall fails in the A screen cinema...there are more.
Steel (1979)
A.J. Bakunas died doubling for George Kennedy in a fall from the Kincaid Towers in Lexington, Kentucky, for the movie "Steel". Bakunas had successfully performed a fall from the ninth floor of the construction site, but when he learned that Dar Robinson had broken his record high fall for a non-movie related publicity stunt, Bakunas returned to perform the fall from the top of the 300-foot (91 m) construction site. Bakunas performed the fall expertly, but the airbag split and Bakunas was killed.
Love Serenade (1996)
During the filming of a scene on a grain silo, stuntman Collin Dragsbaek (doubling actor George Shetsov) died when he fell onto a faulty airbag.
World Wrestling Federation event
Professional wrestler Owen Hart died in May 1999's WWE/WWF PPV Over the Edge 1999 after he was scheduled to glide down from the rafters for a ring entrance. This stunt was botched and Owen fell 78 ft (24 m) to the ring below.

this video could definitely use a better title to get more upvotes. I thought this vid was gonna be some redneck backyard fighting.
Dramatic Re-Creation of a Break Up
Upvote for sure.
I miss the Golden Era of WWE.
The Corporate Ministry of Darkness was the greatest force of nonsense ever. Loved it.
Dramatic Re-Creation of a Break Up
Interestingly Matt Hardy was just released from the WWE. He's been twittering and putting up YouTube videos hating on the WWE for awhile now. His latest YouTube video show'd Rey Mysterio eating sushi with his mask off. He's probably headed to TNA.

His Republican opponent is Linda McMahon, the CEO of the WWE, which is a made-for-tv fake wrestling league.
Whoa whoa...Scripted Wrestling Entertainment. You wouldn't introduce Buffy as a fake show, it's a Science Fiction/Fantasy show.
I think it still needs to be labeled as fake wrestling as you can watch real wrestling on TV as well. There is no real Buffy, therefore you don't need the label.

Excerpt from the Connecticut Senate debate. Richard Blumenthal is the current Attorney General of Connecticut, and is now the Democratic candidate for the Senate seat currently held by Chris Dodd (who is retiring). His Republican opponent is Linda McMahon, the CEO of the WWE, which is a made-for-tv fake wrestling league.
I'm not sure what specifically they're under investigation for, but in the past there have been scandals about steroid use/distribution, and more recently about some sort of shady refusal to reimburse their wrestlers for injuries they sustain in the course of their relatively dangerous jobs.

I'm confused...what did the WWE do that was so terrible? Not sanction it's employees for taking substances that were completely their responsibility? I'm all for the WWE Wellness Program and them bringing in better more capable...less GIANT wrestlers but I still can't blame completely the WWE for what athletes do to themselves.
It would be much different if the WWE was forcing this on them...and it could be argued that the wrestlers who were taking steroids were given more in the company. Still...does personal responsibility exist? When an NFL player gets caught taking steroids do people call for the NFL to get shut down?
Phil Davison For Stark County Treasurer
He's apparently the WWE's candidate.
May his passion live on.
Watch out 4chan, you've been reported to the cyberpolice.
This is like an awesome wrestling promo. That guy has a shining future in the WWE.

Duckman, the main difference being that TV, movies, theatre and such all have a sense of verisimilitude, for the most part. Wrestling is just transparent.
Really? All movies, TV shows, and plays/theater have a sense of truth to them? I know quite a few people who would disagree with that statement. There's a LOT of extremely unbelievable crap in movies, theater, and on TV. "Reality" shows are on the top of my list of totally unbelievable, scripted bullshit that touts itself as "real". None-the-less, like WWE, those type of shows are still entertainment for those of us who watch them.
WWE doesn't claim to be anything other than entertainment. They know that I know, and you know, and everyone else that watches it, or doesn't for the most part knows it's fake. What gets me is people STILL to this day have to yell FAKE!!!!111 every time they see a wrestling clip. The simple question is, why state the obvious?

Just as real and believable as when they're in the ring.
I.E. not at all.
Yup but everything that happens in the movies you watch is real and believable right? Otherwise why watch them, right? Oh yeah! They are for entertainment!
I find it hilarious that people knock wrestling for not being real. Yet on the other hand it's perfectly acceptable for that same person to watch a movie or TV show and be entertained by it.
WWE stands for World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. And that's all it is, entertainment. For those of us who enjoy watching it.
Epic Beard Man and Ambalamps (Michael) agree to REMATCH!!!
Why on earth bring his mother up? The interviewer here is a total bellend.
Anyway, i think the WWE should get this guy in to do fight-hypes. Honestly, him talking up that fight was brilliant.
