Awesome Lego Star Wars Hologram

And they would have gotten away with it too if not for those meddling kids!

That looks like the same ("Pepper's ghost") technique used for the Sega game Time Traveler and the Tupac concert... it was developed in the 16th century, and was popular on stage in the 19th century.
That said though, it was very nicely done until the last few seconds.

Sega Introduces Time Traveler - First Hologram Video Game

budzos says...

There was so much disingenuous marketing hype coming out of Sega in these days. This was the "blast processing" era.. Man that Sega president has some great hair, but his schtick kills me. This game is not a hologram any more than the Tupac hologram was a hologram. Holograms are 3D. This is just projecting video onto glass obscured by other glass. And the game was beyond lame, like a really bland, slow and unresponsive, even more unfair version of Dragon's Lair.

I'm pretty sure Sonic Drive-inns came before the Hedgehog, they got popular in the 50's. Though I always thought that they should join up with Sega and do a promotion or two.

Sonic? I presume this is a tie-in with the videogame character?

A teens introduction to an LP record

jmd says...

Shes pretty young... I can believe it if she pretty much stick to her sparkly vampire shows. But I can understand how it is such a reach when we still see records in use in both classic movies and new movies alike that any teen who watches movies has seen atleast.

35 here, in my day records were on their way out and tape was the main stay. I was big on audio quality not to mention the ability to start a record where ever I wanted so I still bought them, but had many tapes as well. The stereo I had gotten from my parents had an 8 track built in so I was familure with it, but it didn't interest me in the least. It's amazing it was a medium that caught on considering the low number of tracks per tape and you pretty much need to perform your songs to the same length in time.

id like to say I was an early adopter of cd but I had very little money, my first step into the cd world was actually when I got the sega cd. That's when I started buying cd albums.

I was just working my way through the unsifted videos and was lucky enough to find it. Normally I go only a couple of pages into the unsifted realm, but I stuck it out to page 4 and there it was. Fate?

BTW, I used to be a frickin GOD at Super Mario Bros, but now I don't even touch a game controller unless my son asks me to play Little Big Planet. The last game I played regularly was the original Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis. Who's old? I am.

I was involved in creating this- We carved out an hour a day for two weeks, it wasn't a huge strain on resources, plus it was fun.

Working for Sega entitles you to do awesome things on the clock from time to time. Pay no attention to the naysayers.
