Tea Party Summer Camp?
>> ^truth-is-the-nemesis:
I bet every time an answer of 'Ronald Regan' is given regardless of the question you get a partial credit.
"Whose decaying corpse would have a better chance of beating Obama than any of the current republican candidates?"
Tea Party Summer Camp?
Why don't the 'patriots' who attend these services ever stop and think 'If we are soo fiscally conservative then why aren't we offering these services for free?'.
I bet every time an answer of 'Ronald Regan' is given regardless of the question you get a partial credit.
AT&T and T-Mobile: Back to the 80's
It's still funny because it's evil! And the 80s, what a barbaric era. Death matches, forced abortions, Regan...

Herman Cain Won Faux News GOP Primary Debate?
>> ^Crosswords:
Is that Lincoln on one side of the room and Regan on the other? One man the current republican party shares almost nothing with except for being in the same party and the other a man they remember as much greater than he actually was. Oh wait I see, its an analogy between Ron Paul and Herman Cain.
Actually, I'd argue that Lincoln is a great representational embodiment of the Republican Party. In fact, Dubya Bush and Lincoln shared a lot of the same traits. For one, they both suspended habeas corpus. Lincoln also imprisoned thousands of citizens without due process, and Bush imprisoned detainees in Gitmo in the same way.
In that way, Lincoln and Bush and Obama are all cut from the same cloth.

Seinfeld on the British Monarchy, Ricky Gervais and Twitter
Interesting interview, but I must say I have never found Jerry Seinfeld to be particularly funny. Louis CK, Russell Peters and Brian Regan are all funnier on their worst days than Seinfeld at his best.

sarah palin-wins "misinformer of the year"
I stand by my statement that George Bush Sr. was not such a bad president. I would rank him number 2 in my lifetime. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Regan, and Bush.

Indeed, he's funny as hell. I would have to say my favorite comedian is Brian Regan, but Mitch Hedberg is a close second.

Thank you. I replaced. I noticed that you're watching some Louis CK tonight. Do you like? My favorite comedian. I got hooked on him on VS a year or so ago.

i hate the term history buff...
it makes it sound negative to actually want to know what has gone on before our time, to give us more insight as to where we are and where we are going
those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it as the saying goes
yeah, Regan was the "golden age" to alot of conservatives... funny though because alot of what he accomplished wasn't really conservative
but i'd say the downfall of both parties is closer to the era after JFK than Regan, though bankers were corrupting the system since Eisenhower
Kentucky GOP Primary Debate w/ Rand Paul
I thought it was hilarious how Trey Grayson took all of a few words to get to his first Regan namedrop.
Southern Avenger - Are Tea Partiers Racist?
If only he were right.
I know many intelligent people who happen to be conservatives, and when they are not making sense I tend to ask comparison questions. I tend to hit an impasse ,because the folks I have talked to (people I know in meat-space, not net-crazies) don't seem to have coherent policy issues with the current president.
Generally the complaints are about "socialism" which is incoherent, or about "big government", which would implicate their heroes Regan and W to a much larger degree.
I genuinely want to know, if it's not the fact that he is black what makes this president an issue? Especially when a previous president did the same thing, but has their full support. The problem is that nobody on the right seems to be answering this question, they simply state that the question is inappropriate, inflammatory, or that this president is somehow, indefinably, qualitatively different (but despite knowing noting about the quality, that quality is definitely not melanin), none of which are really an argument.
Sarah Palin Keynote Speech at National Tea Party Convention
>> ^JiggaJonson:
How can you say "We need a commander and chief not a law professor!" and get applause? So what? The laws in this country aren't valuable but someone who makes bold idiotic decisions is? Wait, it all makes sense now!
p.s. Regan put us in a worse recession than Bush did, not something to celebrate.
agreed jigga.
the problem is americans collective short term memory and the majorities abject failure in not only knowing recent history but understanding its full impact on their own civil liberties.
habeas corpus is a british law enacted in 1250 a.d for the specific purpose of right of redress.
start tampering with that and the government can charge you with anything and your right to face your accuser in a court of law is toast.result=indefinite detention.
the "war on terror" is an arbitrary term with no definitive goal nor specified target.the "enemy" can be anyone or anything the government deems a threat.this can lead to wholesale abuse considering the the "war on terror" is actually a war on ideology.
historically speaking,it is not uncommon nor unimaginable that when a government is granted power it will always use that power and in many instances against it's own citizens.
the real problem in my opinion is when you add up americans lack of historical knowledge and our collective ability to forget and the corporate medias total failure to address politicians who flat out lie or manipulate facts to fit their narrative,we find ourselves dealing with a powerful cocktail of ignorance and fear which political parties use with amazing proficiency.
the majority of american people have given authority to the corporate media to tell them what to think and how to think it.until they realize that the mainstream media had utterly failed, and that journalistic integrity has been forfeited for ratings and profit we will see more sarah palin like politicians in the future.
