Maybe we need a *Machinima channel, though there was a fair bit of post-processing involved.

i mean part of me is like if this was some more known film then it would be cool but obvously a recreatoin of annything is equaly as valid as the person who made this might reli like the other film clip, but still anima is so often folowed religously be a coloctoin of dickjobs and allso nice people who are obsessed with it but not dick jobs , so was the guy that made this a dick job statisticly its likely however i cannot call it.

as for coppying something directly i think it could have been done with some humer as i dont personaly understand why you would spend the time to coppy something 1-1 in a game engin like if you are going to invest the time why not use it as an opertunity to creat something new other than new in the sence that its the same thing but done in machinima.

Funny how divided people are on the music. I liked it. I thought it brought a great energy and fun to the video. So much machinima is just dark and angst and emo.

While the first machinimas used only the game engine itself, a whole series of software programs designed to allow the creator to use scripts to control the characters have been created, and are in use in the machinima community. I suppose it's just a matter of purism.

This is great, with a strangely very appropriate soundtrack. But most people do not understand that.

Still, I don't think it qualifies as "machinima" for the reason stated above by 3daysawake: it should use only the game engine itself, not outside editing, AFAIK.

Isn`t machinima supposed to use whats already in the game?
Wouldn`t this be a normal animation using the theme of a game and some awful music?

This is even more impressive considering the awful dreck of past machinima it had to rise above. Plus I liked the music.

They get really pissed when people crack the MPQs... but hey people still do it.
They went crazy over their standalone server crack, and any sort of wow model viewers.


They don't seem to mind cracking MPQ's just to "have a look", it's when people crack them in order to make changes that they get mad. Wowhead has a 3d model viewer for nearly every item in the game, and I doubt Blizzard is unaware or unhappy with that.

If anything, I'd imagine they'd be more upset about their copyrighted materials being used without permission, but Blizzard is smarter than Lucasfilm -- they like this whole machinima phenomenon, and encourage it with contests. They even seem to be hiring the winners to make official cutscenes for them.
