Yeah, I do love Gervais and Merchant, but these have always seemed unnecessarily cruel, and I get shirty with them when Karl is actually making a good point.

Karl loves them, and they love karl. Karl's made millions out of these podcasts and the tv show - trust me, he knows what's going on, they originally gave him the courage to speak his mind (the cause of all the hilarity) before all of this.

This is one of my favourite bits of all the XFM shows, podcasts, etc.

The brain is like a muscle... good for it to stretch and overcome and discover things here and there,... not good to follow the same route and routine day after day, avoiding problems and experiences.


Yeah. Considering your own mind is really the most important part of your existence, developing and expanding it would seem to be pretty goddamn important. I don't think that means we need to surrender every convenience and go all Spartan on ourselves but people, in general, will strongly prefer the easiest option, which seems really unhealthy in the long run.

Yes he is and watching the Ricky Gervais Show I wanted Ricky to Shut the Fuck Up most of the time. He would constantly stop Karl thinking and saying things and it was soo amazingly annoying I couldn't take it.
