Dear Trump Supporters

MilkmanDan says...

I think a lot like you do -- big government is a problem. But, while the GOP loudly and constantly *declares* that it is the party opposed to big government, to me it seems pretty clear that that is no longer even remotely true (if it ever was).

Is Clinton even more in bed with all of that than Trump? Probably, yeah. But this isn't an issue that revolves around Republican vs Democrat lines. It absolutely does revolve around corporations.

Yay for Capitalism and everything, but if Capitalism is the ultimate motivator, it stands to reason that these giant corporations *must* be getting a return on their investment when they funnel huge sums of money into politics. Otherwise, as Capitalist enterprises, they wouldn't be doing it.

So while I tend to agree that big government tends to be worse than small government for quite a few reasons (harder to monitor for corruption, less efficient, etc.), I think that big corporations and big government represent a feedback loop that feed off of each other. Thinking that the problem lies in one but not the other is doing yourself a disservice.

The problem is big government. Not corporations or the 1%. It politicians lining their pockets and the expense of Americans.

Yes, all well and good, but along with westy I have to take umbrage at her thinking she's worked out what's going to happen when she dies via these drugs. What shit.
No issue here with the drugs, just with people thinking they've found an ultimate truth through them that is untrue.

yes and no, I agree with this statement a great deal, but on the flip side it sounds an awful lot like you are saying " you know what happens " because you clearly are dismissing her claims, how do you know they are wrong ?

I think its malarkey, but to say someone is wrong when you are no better off than they, is in itself wrong.

*fun fact- When I was on mushrooms around 2002-2003 I literally thought the house cat was a reincarnation of my grandma who had passed away years before. I also wrote a poem about the tack on the wall talking to me.

LOL! He didn't follow you, he was just everywhere at all times spreading his evilly Democrat rhetoric. It was a social experiment that didn't grow wings. Now that you banned me, I won't be able to create a new sockpuppet because my IP is banned from making any new user accounts.

Really? I guess that makes sense, since it was obsessively following me around the site. You stalker.

Trolling.

My question is, what was his bannable offense? That he was a troll? Or that he was a sock puppet? Or that he was a nerd? Or that he was BillO? Or that you didn't like someone acting evilly liberal?

I loved it. I wish him back and in greater numbers. Haha!

Not a bad troll concept, but poor execution and a bit too obvious for his own good.

Haha, was keitherolbermango hitting too close to home?

He did sound a lot like you guys, I must admit. I'm surprised you didn't embrace it.

Weird Vaguely Racist British Commercial - Kia Ora

dannym3141 says...

I actually regularly saw this ad when i was younger, it was quite a good one and quite popular. I used to sing the song to myself a lot like you do when you're younger, and i even hum it to myself from time to time now.. so seeing this on here is key-raaaaazy. I never even registered that the kid was black back then, and even now i don't see any undertones at all.. In fact, while i was at primary school - between 4-10 - we had a black girl in our class, and even she sang it or hummed it, and no one ever gave any kia-ora based abuse, ever.

Anyway.. explain the racism to me.. so he's a little black kid who likes this drink, a crow wants some of his drink, he doesn't let him cos it's too orangey for anything but him and his dog.. then a crow starts bouncing the sun as though it's a ball. Even if it's meant to look like basketball, why is that racist either?

Honestly, i'm not playing dumb or devil's advocate, i don't see why it's racist.

- The unnaturally deep voice belongs to the crow.
- The bag may indicate he's a hobo, but not necessarily and why is that so terrible anyway?
- It's clearly set in some baking hot country such as ones where you're likely to find darker skin.
- The crow is playing basketball, not the black kid, even if basketball is racist.
- Oranges = made by black people omgracisthax? That's about as racist as associating holland with windmills - ie. not very.
(just pre-empting some answers and hunting for any kind of racism i can)

I'm really flummoxed on this one! Put me out of my misery, or perhaps it really isn't racist at all.
