Why is Hans Zimmer the music of the revolution?

^Right composer, wrong score. The first track is from Hans Zimmer's score for 'The Thin Red Line'. The second (vi IV I iii/vii) is from John Murphy's score for 'Sunshine'.

If I could have both at the same time like this, it would be completely obvious.

Otherwise, it's Robot Chicken. Now if we could create a videogame-Robot Chicken-Spielberg/Lucas/Nolan/James Cameron/Ridley/Peter Jackson/Guillermo del Toro /Joss Whedon (to keep the others on the up & up) and then Hans Zimmer/Williams (I know)/Jerry Goldsmith/Trent Reznor/Cliff Martinez/ & Dennis McCarthy for sound. Lot's of the people involved would innately clean up mistakes (like Lucas at some point; for example).

It would be the best thing ever...

Great video. Loving the *music too... particularly "Time" by Hans Zimmer from Inception.

The sad part is that Nolan won't make any more movies like that. Some ideas are perfect for small budgets, but now that he's so commercially successful he's probably gonna keep making big Hollywood blockbusters with mandatory special effects, Hans Zimmer soundtrack etc...

Traditional-Ridiculously-Epic-Score does not amuse. Harry Gregson-Williams is scoring and not Hans Zimmer

Could be something by Steve Jablonsky. He's done music to Gears of War 2, Transformers, Final Fantasy etc. These guys (DaveandNic4eva) also mention Hans Zimmer, another great composer

I guess *shortfilms is technically appropriate here? Oh wow, Hans Zimmer did the soundtrack? Okay, this is one of those situations where, while we don't usually call it, this time *music is called for then. Yay Hans!

Both of the other composers listed her... hmmm, let's put their themes up against William's themes in a popular recognition poll.

There's no competition at all, Williams has created more memorable/iconic movie themes than any other composer. There are other brilliant composers out there (I love Hans Zimmer's work), and there are themes which will be instantly recognizable to most people that are written by others. But a single composer writing so many themes that are so well known... come on, no contest.
