An amazing camera. You obviously know nothing about it. What other camera this size can you record 4k, or mount absolutely anywhere? (Although, I wouldn't use the GoPro suction mounts, they suck. Get a RAM Mount. AMAZING tenacity!)

I have a really hard time believing this.

In the entire history of air flight, millions and millions of miles have been logged and not once has an airliner, helicopter, blimp or glider ever hit or been hit by a meteorite. I would think the odds would be astronomically higher that an aircraft would be hit than a single skydiver who just happened to have his GoPro on.

Not saying it's impossible, it just feels highly, highly, highly unlikely.

I don't know, he did protect the GoPro when he was being shot at. Fakes miss that sort of detail. They figure that because his eyelashes deflect bullets (see Bryan Singer's documentary "Superman Returns") that everything else is protected too.
