Nostalgia Critic: Alien Resurrection

Drax says...

Alien: Resurrection made me appreciate Alien 3 a whole lot more. And I never thought it was a terrible movie, just not as fun as the first two. Alien 4 I couldn't even accept as "actually happening" in the Alien timeline... way too goofy.

However, I DO recommend the Alien 4 director's, City of Lost Children. A heavy effects movie more suited to his ....Frenchness.

Amelie - The Cutest Outtakes Ever?

swedishfriend says...

If you like the films of this director please note that he has worked with many of the same people in his career (editor, production art designer, writer, actors, etc.) From Delicatessen to Micmacs you have that same style because of that. When City of Lost Children came out he wasn't even described as "the director" it was more about the team that also made Delicatessen and then they went on to make Amelie, etc. Alien 4 and A Very Long Engagement shares the least number of the team and also feel different from the other films so Just thought I would point that out.

"Things I Like, Things I Don't Like" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (

oohahh says...

YouTube comments paraphrased:

This is a short movie starring Dominique Pinon that Jeunet directed in 1989 back before Delicatessen, Alien Resurrection, Amelie, Mathilde/A Very Long Engagement, City Of Lost Children, and the rest.

The French title was "Foutaises" (gossip, gap).
