You ever use google chat, it's easier for me to talk about such things through chat progs, if not i can send you an email i suppose.

So is there anything in particular you want demonstrated? And how familiar are you with Illustrator or Adobe's interface/standard tools?

It's part of my job, so I've produced materials on Adobe software etc, but no videos. Will be a fairly easy job to do and capture; just a little strange doing it on my own (without students!) Oh yeah: I guess your on an XP PC? With CS1 or CS2?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! i totally get what you're doing now!!! *slaps head* i thought you were referencing something here at the sift which i couldn't find reasoning behind .... you're saying it's *dead and the reasoning behind it per the host site!

it's really just semantics and contrary to your thinking, it hasn't caused me the least bit of frustration or annoyance. it takes much more and usually in the form of real life to achieve that goal! i was merely inquiring to the reasoning behind it all ...

i wish we had voice chat for times like these!!! lol

In reply to your comment:
OK - so "quote is being misused" was your point? Right...The quote is to substantiate the dead invocation (it's the reason why it's being marked), here's a couple of examples which show it's sometimes a necessity: Scientology & Ascent Of Man.

Is this really what's at fault here? This isn't a manifestation of something else I've done that has annoyed you, is it? I'm just surprised something so small (and done by other Sifters) can frustrate you to this level. For your Sifting sanity's sake: I'll drop the quotes, with the exception of special occasions (such as the above two).

In reply to your comment:
*giggle* i think you missed the jist of what i meant ... it wasn't so much the italicized bit that caught my attention ... it was the actual quote itself. since you're technically not removing a video but merely *'ing it dead ... i think the quote is being misused.o

In reply to your comment:
Hmmm, thanks for your message - I guess comment formatting is an annoyance to you. I'm not sure what the dead/remove parts all about: I understand how it works (EG: two others of MLXs). The vast majority of my quotations are in italics, it's not something I do as a ritual when regrettably invoking SiftBots dead. It's a consistent comment habit I have, my internet accent/style (like capitalizing names/acronyms/HTML code, it's the geeky programmer in me escaping!)

I use italics to differentiate visually between what is my own text and someone else's. I know it's not required, but neither is proper hyper-linking, block-quotes, correct grammar/spelling (or even sensical statements with some Sifters! *cough chog). I'm not alone with this habit: if you look below, SiftBot uses italics for your previous message quote...

In reply to your comment:

why the need for the italicized quote? technically you are not removing the video ... you are merely flagging it dead, which does not necessarily mean it will be removed. just looks odd and i couldn't hold back say anything anymore!

In reply to your comment:
Sorry MLX: it's *dead: "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation".

there have been videos of blue touch screens and the suh, but not one that made music with blocks!

In reply to your comment:
Sorry: but I think these are dupes, either Mlx or PlastiqueMonkey posted them a couple of months ago. I'll trawl through my votes / their posts to confirm.

I respectfully disagree.

I knew that phrasing might come back to haunt me - what I meant was if you are new to a community, the accepted etiquette is to hang around for a bit and get to know the community before diving in headfirst.

I'm sorry you didn't like my comment but I will try to do better next time.

In reply to your comment:
So by your logic: I have a better position to argue and 'call you out' because of my Sift status? I don't agree with that or your other comments on this...Every Sifter's equal - thats the idealogy of this website: a democracy of users to sort & comment the webs videos.

I neither found your comment a joke, relevant or interesting & don't believe Kanga's was patronising at all. In fact: I found both of yours very antagonistic to the level of trolling - you should welcome new-comers...not attempt insultative flame-wars.

In reply to your comment:
Yes I know, I was joking. And I thought your comment was a bit patronising. You might want to get a few posts published before calling people out.

I just don't think the clip was good enough to get my vote.
