Might be her lawyer. I'm just happy she has a lawyer. And sounds like her foster mom is not awful either...
What?! I thought I saw an interview with her father last night. Perhaps that was her lawyer.
It does seem that the school didn't take any of that into account, before or during this incident.
That does remove the 'call her mama' option pretty clearly and thoroughly, doesn't it.
Good question about the 'resource officer' (officer Slam) vs counselor. From all I've heard, the officer had no business being in the classroom at all. They are there ONLY for criminal activity, not to resolve classroom disputes or arguments. When he saw her sitting quietly, he should have told the teacher 'this isn't an incident for me, call the principle', not 'you're coming with me, or I'm gonna MAKE you come with me.'

I thought the same thing at first, however
"The Spring Valley High School girl who was violently taken down by a sheriff's deputy in Columbia, S.C., Monday recently lost her mother and is an orphan living in a foster home."

I would hope the teacher and other school administrators knew about this and might have taken it into consideration when addressing her behaviour in class. It looks like they did not do that however. Why was she even in class? Why didn't they send in a counselor instead of a "resource officer"?
I would just switch to the old format. Drinking beer is awesome.
or...I could drink less beer at lunch on Fridays...one of those things.
Thanks

You can go back to using the old format if you like. At the bottom of the pages of the new format there is a place to 'opt out'.

Obviously I didn't read the description. I blame the new format.
You're forgiven. ;-)
Great minds think alike, eh?

Um...look at the description.
Um...look at the description.
"My milkshake brings all the squirrels to the yard..."
...seriously, no one thought of this in 2 days??
Thanks
