Alaska sure is purty.
My sifting will sure be lacking over the next week, for I will be spending my time in the beautiful state of Alaska. When I get back I have to catch up on that HUGE "Highbrow antics of a cat" thread - seemed to be a lot going on there.

Have a Pizza from Pizzaman in Eagle River. I swear it's the best pizza in the world and I miss it dearly.

Woah them's fightin' words! Roma's Pizza in Bethalto Illinois is probably one of the best either that or Mazzio's Pizza in Burlington, Iowa.

And if yer gonna be in Alaska, have to go fishing. It's a rule.
cheesemooHave a great time in Alaska, MG. I spent a few days in southern AK (roundabouts Ketchikan), and it was the nicest place I've ever been. Some of the nicest people too. Fishing, hiking, a couple thousand pictures...
Anyway it was one of the high points of my life so far, and I hope you enjoy yourself.

deathcowOh man, too bad its so bright you could come look though the monster scope. How do you like this Midnight Sun? it's so damn bright now and still 5+ weeks to go until the longest day. For optimum theft of the scope, bring 3-4 sherpas with flak jackets.
xxovercastxxMy father was stationed in Alaska and that was when he took up photography, so there are probably a few hundred photos of AK boxed up in his attic. They actually get quite boring to look through, because it's photo after photo of mountains in the distance, mountains up close, mountains with snow, soldiers in front of mountains, etc.
However, despite the rather poor impression most of those pics have given me, I still imagine it's jaw-dropping to experience. I don't have much interest in travel, but AK is one of the few parts of North America I'd care to see.
Perhaps one day.
