BBC F1: KERS Unit Explained with Andy Cowell & Gary Anderson

BBC F1 video explaining the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) unit used in Formula 1 since 2009 (except 2010 when, by agreement, no team ran it even though it was still legal that year).

In the first year Williams F1 used a flywheel system, which is now used in road cars and other racing series, but it was not able to be scaled up enough to work with the new requirements in 2012, so now they run an electric system the same as everybody else.
