I was in Ireland years ago. Someone told me that there were hot tubs up in Northern Ireland that were filled with seaweed. Slippery seaweed, loads of salt, water warmed up....
If you can't find someone to do the warm noodle treatment, maybe you can hie yourself to Ireland.
Report back to me?
Oooo baby! I'm next!

Google tells me that our population is 10 times your continent's population. So I suspect we are much worse actors on the climate just by sheer volume.
I thought you guys were having record droughts down there? I don't follow things that closely -- I get sad and overwhelmed.
The activists who have hope and keep fighting are my heroes....
For us the first day of Summer is indistinguishable from the last day of Spring
We really have three rather than four seasons here.
Actually Texas and California are likely to be as affected, or more so, than we are by increasing global temperatures (and parts of Florida will be the first to sink under the waves). Also, unfortunately, our own politicians have been just as short sighted. Our previous PM Tony Abbott had the dubious distinction of being voted (along with Canada's Stephen Harper) climate laggard of the year 2014/2015 (http://roadtoparis.info/2015/02/10/australia-canada-climate-bad-boys/).
Perhaps the apology should be going the other way?

Yeah. San Francisco isn't that affected by earth tilt.
I forgot about the flip of the seasons.
Every year, I get giddy with joy on the first day of winter, because I KNOW THE DAYS ARE GETTING LONGER. I might not see the difference immediately, but I know we are "on the mend."
Conversely, I get a tad bit sad on the first day of summer. Because I know the days are beginning to get shorter. It isn't a Newtonian "equal and opposite reaction" -- after all, it is still light out at 9:45 pm the next day. There is a soupcon, an egg wash, a slight breeze of sadness knowing that we have reached our apex and are headed downhill.
But for you? First day of summer is just the first day of summer, at that latitude.
Scary temps down there. And here our short-sighted, bought-by-big-money-interests-polticians are fighting the reality of climate crisis even as you guys bake.
My apologies from my continent to yours.
Thanks
Melbourne is about 37° south, so in Northern hemisphere terms it should be roughly equivalent to San Francisco and largely unaffected. It's also mid Summer here, so Christmas day was (unusually) mid 30s (would be 90s in °F). Normally we'd have spring weather, but a few years ago it hailed on Christmas day, and my Dad remembers one year when he was young it was 102°F (which we had to convert to 39°C to decide was pretty hot).

Hey! You too, to you and your family.
I live pretty far north -- almost Canada -- and we have pretty dramatic swings in the length of our days.
My favorite salutation, which I made up myself, that brings genuine joy to one's entire being if you live like this....
HAPPY RETURN OF THE LIGHT!!
Don't know if you are close enough to the South Pole for that to be meaningful.
If not --
An American Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Happy Christmas.

Hey. We are both pains in the asses. It's all good!
And I have been told many times that I also see things from a different slant.
It really is all good.
It's even worse when one is the type of person who thinks the best compliment they ever got was 'Newtboy doesn't think the way normal people do.' That's certainly not helpful when attempting internet communication, and maddening for all when people invariably expect you to read into their posts and understand some unwritten or miss-written parts...something I am completely incapable of doing properly.
Thanks for not bailing just because I'm a sesquipedalian pain in the ass.
