If you listen to the director's commentary (I saw him talk at Siggraph 2012), he basically agrees with you up until the point where he quits his job. The director says that the main character is being a wimp and hasn't done anything to deserve the woman until he shows the courage to really go after her.

Of course, that's just the fairy tale logic. Yes it's a bit stalkerish and impulsive.

If they want to have any impact to the ludicrous amount of guns in America, they need serious and strict regulations, not just faff about with a few weaksauce laws. It's simple:

When I share a video online, there's a good chance that it is a video that I saw first here. I know that some of the ad revenue goes back to help pay for the site. So I link to the sift hoping that it helps out a little bit, and that maybe a friend might get enticed to join as I did when I stopped being a lurker. I joined to participate in discussion after initially following @djsunkid's bread crumbs here. Looking at the non-logged-in video pages, I don't know if I would have made the same choice. I don't see the menu bar to "top sifts" or the other information on the home page to suggest that there's anything else to the site beyond just the one video. But maybe you guys are looking to draw people more from the http://www.facebook.com/videosift page? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys do with the update.

I think the Facebook commenting is a good idea and I understand having all the sharing options for revenue reasons, but damn that page is ugly. If it becomes any more bland simpler it might as well be wimp.com

What a bunch of wimps!

I had to do that with a black bear once, but black bears are wimps. I thought it was supposed to be suicide with a polar bear, much less three of them. Maybe they already had a good day at the dump. And what kind of dinosaur did that bone come from?

@Duckman33 I'm sure they wouldn't mind the wimp label in this case .

My wife and I discussed discipline when we had our child. We discussed our childhoods and the ways we were punished. She came from a much less authoritarian household than me. We actually decided against spanking. So I mete out timeouts and revoked privileges as punishments. But it was our decision. I deeply resent people trying to tell me how to raise my child, if my child is not being harmed.
