Also had a P2 333 "Darth Vader"-tower Compaq (2nd gen DVD ftw!) system w/Riva TNT. Oddly enough was better than dual Diamond Monsters in SLI, overall FPS + display quality wise on my rig. Getting Quake 2/Tribes running in hardware mode for the first time was a thing of beauty as a good majority of my Quake 2/AQ2 days were experienced through software rendering. This definately had to be alittle before 98.

It is, and its a rather clever fake. The TNT is a distraction, the preset (the part that follows the explosion) having been filmed at an actual beach. Watch the camera pans to notice when the spliced it. A well done work, even for a fake.

Ah, the good ol' days. When you could buy camera, film, licensed soundtrack, audio mixing equipment, transportation, shotgun, catering, beach passes, actor's salaries, change for the phone, swimming lessons, wigs, TNT, big fake shark, all for $20.

Wow, that's interesting. I didn't know that about the F-bomb nashbar. It sort of goes against the idea that societies get more and more liberal over time.

It's funny because in some ways the US seems more conservative ... and then on TNT you see an ad for "Girls Gone Wild Super Costa Rica Lesbian Edition" during dinner.
