He wouldn't have won $1 million instantly even if he had solved the puzzle. The way it works is that IF he has the most cash (the million doesn't count towards his total) when time runs out at the end of the show, then he goes on to the final puzzle. At the final puzzle he spins a wheel with 24 envelopes that each contain different prizes and one of those envelopes will be replaced with the million dollar prize . However, the contents of the envelope are not revealed until after the final puzzle round is over.

In the past five years the million dollar award has only been won twice (according to Wikipedia). Considering that the show airs daily, it tells you how incredibly unlikely it would have been for this guy to win the million even if they'd let him win the round.

Oh, and if you listen to the video more than once you can clearly hear him mispronounce "curio" as "kuro." He was nervous and he made a mistake. Sucks for him but they were right to buzz him.

as long as there is time left on the clock, the ball can be put into play, but the ball remains in play until the play has ended, not when the time runs out. The player that intercepted the hail mary dropped the ball when the clock ran out, but didn't "down" the ball (instead he fumbled it), leaving the ball in play and enabling the team on the offense to regain possession and run it back for a touchdown.

No no. You have to yell right back at him! Otherwise he just yells garbage until the time runs out, and you don't get to say your piece.

It wasn't even scoring that made him the best. In the '98 finals he gave them the lead in the dying minutes by stealing the ball from Malone(the Jazz 'star' player) and making shots both before and after the steal. Down by 3 with time running out? No worries, Jordan will hit his shot, steal the ball back and hit another. Simply unbelievable.

The shot has to be made before the buzzer sounds. As long as the ball is in the air the play still stands. It's sort of like American football at the end of a game. The ball has to be snapped into play before the time runs out but as long as there is an active play the game is on until the ball is down.
