Is this moralistic plan of yours meant to be applied universally, or only for those damn overbreeding black, brown and yellow hordes that threaten the white worlds' stable lifestyles and resources (resources, of courses, stolen from the third world)

the impending disaster is overpopulation and it's byproducts - CO2 emissions, waste, and resource depletion.

Its only exponential if our population is growing at an exponential rate. This is true in Africa and other third world nations, although it is slowing in the richer nations. I don't mind the one-child policy of China to counter this trend and think that it should be forcibly applied to other 3rd world countries that don't take this seriously.

I would be interested in knowing what your solution might entail?

George Carlin "I Gave Up On My Species"

Lawdeedaw says...

We can afford to be the way we are because we exploited (still do) the fuck out of third world nations. Exploited = people's lives and suffering. At best we can all claim ignorance for our economic drunk driving homicide but the point is moot.

The greater point is; put us through a real recession and see where this humanity lies. No, not this fake crap we went through to enrich the rich with unemployment and trading. I mean where people can't buy food or gas. Where government programs don't exist. I mean where children are massively starving in the street.

I am highly disenchanted that this is the best we have come to because we can afford it. Some sorry shit we have created with billions in abundance. I believe in Marx's ideas of capitalism exploitation (Though hold no faith in his communist beliefs,) Webber's views on logical thoughts for the dollar and how it will fuck us over, and Carlin's views on how shitty we are--at our greatest pinnacle.

I love Carlin and I love his insight and comedy, but I don't take him that seriously.

By that I mean that I take his comments as a challenge. Not a challenge to debate him on facts - yes all sorts of people have made all kinds of bad decisions. Politicians, corporations, individuals, gangs, clubs, schools, you, me, your friends and my friends have all made all sorts of bad hypocritical immoral backwards ass actions that have maimed, destroyed, burned, polluted, hurt, deprived and desecrated.

Yet I am not willing to give into the cynicism and contempt some fellow sifters do about the world and people around me. I can't look at any of the above and say any are perfect or that any are evil.

I believe that Steve Pinker is right - while we are still violent we are statistically less violent.

I look at what Bill Gates is doing.

I look at the "toys" we have, and the art we are making.

I watch two young guys go give waitresses $200 tips.

Maybe what is circling the drain is all that SHIT we do. All that bad stuff making a slow, but eventual, exit.

What an adorable girl! There's something really "adult" about her mannerisms and capability that probably comes from growing up in a third world country.

Well, you mention the unborn, yet on the main the thinking in environmental circles is that we have too many humans and that the Earth is unable to support them. Therefore, abortion (over 70 million unborn children murdered in the US since the 70s) is to be embraced, and even more extreme methods of population control are not only openly pondered, but have resulted in mass sterilization programs which have been mercilessly implemented in third world countries. Here are some of the greater atrocities committed in the name of preserving "mother earth":

http://www.thenewatlantis.com/publications/the-population-control-holocaust

Among the intellectual elite, human lives are reduced to being paid the same consideration as one might the lowly cockroach. Contrary to your assertion, it is the Christian who affirms the sanctity of life and the inherent value of every person, whereas it is the opponents of Christianity that affirm infanticide:

Dawkins approves of infanticide

If you would reread my prior comment, you will see that I am in agreement with @RFlagg that we should be good stewards of the Earth. However, the mania of the environmentalists is to devalue human life and subordinate it to their misguided notions of preservation. The sickness of this world is sin, and the only one who can cure it is God. This world will continue to degenerate until the Lord returns because it is in rebellion against its Creator:

2 Chronicles 7:14

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

United States is the Most Corrupt Country in the World

Drachen_Jager says...

Well, the U.S. is the country that holds title to the largest civilian massacres in history, though I suppose if you counted up the total civilians killed, China might beat the U.S. by a bit.

In most other ways though China and some third-world countries have the U.S. beat for corruption.

I am very curious on the need for coal consumption. It could just be my area - Up here in Canada, we use Hydro Electricity. Coal just seems like such a third world product. It's dirty, anti-envomental, toxic and shortens the lifespans of all who mine it.

Sure it gives people jobs, but given the choice between a longer lifespan and backbreaking labour and a shortened lifespan you would think they would be moving away from coal if possible.

And WTF is "clean coal?"
