I did a big paper on the evolution of bipedalism in school. Lots of advantages to walking upright on two legs. Mainly it's more energy efficient - you get more distance per calorie. The first form of hunting used by humans was exhaustion hunting. We'd stalk other mammals (which are all quadrupedal) for days until they collapsed first, because they need a lot more rest than we do over time/distance.

What is with the accent on the newscaster starting the clip? It sounds like Jack Black/Kyle Gass doing "I believe in Gawd" at the end of the Tenacious D album.

Satan doesn't make you do anything..he merely tempts. It's not Satans fault that someone sinned. He couldn't legally be blamed for any sin that humans do. Our nature is fallen, that is why we're such easy targets. We naturally want to do things which aren't right. The flesh and spirit are at war with one another. The flesh has insatiable desires which never end, and lead people into self destruction. We're willing victims, which is the problem. This is why we must be born again. Until we put on the righteousness of Christ, we don't stand a chance.

The bible is more than a cautionary tale, it is our true history. What is seen by the eye is the surface of the spiritual war that is underlaying all things. Every person you meet is a soldier on one side or the other, and a war is being waged for his very soul. What comes out of his mouth are the weapons of this war, the sword of truth or the flaming arrows of the enemy. There are no coincidences, because all things are being orchastrated.

Since you do appreciate the bible, I will recommend the book of Ecclesiastes to you. It is a book of sayings of wisdom, written by a King who had done it all, seen it all, had every thing a man could ever possibly want and more. It his cautionary tale about life.

Also, I honestly don't see how you think that the one who controls life and death is evil for presiding over it. Over 2 million people are born and die every day. God is sovereign, and He can adjudicate His creation how He pleases. As He said to job, "Have you ever in all your life caused a day to dawn?" He didn't need anyones help in making the Earth, and He certainly doesn't need anyones advice in running it. It was *because* of the evil man was doing that He brought His judgement to bear.

All they need is to run institutions that house people who can't control their psychic abilities and we'll have a pretty decent groundwork for a Starcraft in real life. Next steps are for them to utilize their private prisons for their own private army, develop stims, then branch into space traffic control (hinges on developing our space tech -- lazy present humanity) and we're alllllll set. The real Jim Raynor can then be taken out of prison and employed as a marine.

You cannot debate religion with those unwilling to reason. That's like explaining Cramer's rule to somebody that doesn't know math, or like teaching politics to me. At a certain point a person just tunes out. The culmination of years of brainwashing and indoctrination cannot be changed externally. It has to start from within. The questioning of reality isn't for everybody and nobody should feel so heated when they can't force that upon somebody.

The best thing to do, is to classify somebody based on their religious views. It's really easy. Obviously they're not one to question anything. Obviously they don't have the emotional capacity to accept that their fate is 6 feet under and not high in the heavens (or otherwise). And definitely we'd all hope these people would stop breeding, but unfortunately religion in and of itself is too tenacious of a idea for certain people to get past.

I've got to be honest, though, I can't read shinyblurrylogic's comments in their entirety. As part of my classification method that I stated above, he is not an expert on anything real, so reading the blither is a waste of my time. Writing about it isn't though, it's cathartic and a mental exercise, as always.
