That's true for a lot of things. Action scenes (particularly fight scenes) really suffer from this.

If you hand your fight scene off to the second unit and don't give the actors/stunt team time to prepare.... you end up with Iron Fist season 1 (credit to them for a massive improvement in season 2).

If you care about this stuff, take the time to set it up, do enough takes until you get it right... you get John Wick or Jackie Chan's early stuff.

Btw, I think it's a good sign that a) they put this video online and b) they *didn't* run off immediately, as it makes me suspect they dealt with whatever consequences their way come.

We have problems we need to solve on Earth. These take money and resources. And if you’re sick, or homeless, it must feel shit to see people wasting money on frivolous things.

But we DO need inspiration, and art, and fun, and ridiculously, awesomely, stupid stunts. If we said we can’t do anything until we fix all the problems here, we’d never do anything.

I think Xenu is the bad guy in that story. So Xenu would have attached a weak Thetan to Tom to make him unable to complete the stunt successfully.

Tom Cruise may be crazy, but damn is he a hard working actor. I don't think anybody can question his commitment to his projects. Everybody who works with him says he's like a machine when he's on the job, just solely focused on getting the shot and making the movie as entertaining as possible.

Stuff like this any other actor would get a stunt double to do, but he's said repeatedly that he always wants to do the stunts himself if possible because he feels the audience can tell when the doubles take over. And the stuntmen totally respect him because at this point in his career he's as good at it as any veteran stuntman.

I wonder though if Tom Cruise movies have higher insurance costs because he insists on doing his own stunts.

I'm going to turn 45 in March and I wouldn't dream of doing a stunt like that.
