MiG-29KUB Night Take-off From Indian Aircraft Carrier
I didn't know the Indians changed the carrier from V/STOL to STOBAR. Fascinating.

ICON A5 - What every man wants for Christmas
For something that small, why not some leading edge slats for STOL ?? Just saying.
Man takes off, flies and lands airplane - with no power.
I'm not sure why you guys think this isn't a real plane... From reviewing his youtube account, it seems to be a Highlander Bush Plane, which is quite a bit different from Ultralights.
The guy seems to be well experienced with that sort of takeoff, judging from other videos on his account, particularly this short take off landing (STOL) video, in which he lands on a hilltop, turns the plane around and takes off again.
A hilariously fugly airplane from the '20s - FW 19 "Ente"
And its a pretty good flyer...kind of a STOL craft
DDT - Nebo na zemle/The Sky Over the Earth
The lyrics:
Tam, gde t'ma stoit u sveta, gde nebritye umy
V smysl ne veria ot zaveta, chtut nakazy iz tiur'my
Na spine taskaiut vremia, da ssypaiut na vesy
Chistiat mramornoe temia, kormiat Spasskie chasy
proigrysh
Beregut do pervoj smerti, otpevaiut do vtoroj
Vsekh sviatykh raspiali cherti, Bog - on vidno - vykhodnoj
Vsio - ne v mast', da vsio - dosada, sveta - t'ma, a sveta net
Zaveli khmyri v zasadu i pytaiut stol'ko let
Dniom so svechkami iskali vykhod v zhizn', gde vsio - ne tak
Dyrok mnogo, vse slykhali, a ne vyskochit' nikak
Tam, gde t'ma stoit u sveta, tam gde svet vsegda u t'my
Ot zaveta do sovetov brodiat strannye umy
proigrysh
Volosatymi glazami sh'iut dela, kuiut detej
Zapriagaiut letom sani, i, pokhozhi na liudej
Ehj prokashlis', vsha zhivaia, spoj negromko pod lunoj
Kak ia na grudi saraia spal schastlivyj i khmel'noj
Snilis' vremena drugie - mir bez duri i vojny
Devy - strojnye, nagie, parni - trezvye umy
Chto prinios blagie vesti belyj angel na kryle
Vse my, na perine - vmeste stroim nebo na zemle
Cockpit View USMC Harrier Take-Off and Landing
VTOL is not only fuel ineffcient, it also limits your take off load. So if the plane is full combat equipped it will not take off vertically. Instead it will use STOL since Harrier is a V/STOL fighter. It's taken off of a LHD (USMC amphibious assault ship).
Cargo Plane Crash at Airshow (21 secs)
This was a deHavilland DHC-5 Buffalo that crashed at the 1984 Farnbrough Airshow. The plane was a military STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) transport, and while demonstrating the short landing capabilities, the pilot got too slow with too great of a tailwind and was unable to get the nose up to flare for landing, so he landed a bit shorter than planned. No one was hurt in the event, but apparently "any landing you can walk away from is a good one" didn't keep him from being fired.
For way more information than you really care about re: this event:
