Actually RIGHT as the video ends it appears another dude from off to the left of the camera view comes and shoves/hits him. Again, it would've been neat to see what happened afterwards. I personally just hope he had the snot beaten out of him, and the girl learned a lesson.

There's no question that he deserved the snot beaten out of him, from a purely human standpoint, I would have wanted to do the same thing. But as these are enforcers of the law, they don't have that "luxury". If they can't separate their personal feelings from their job, they do not belong in those uniforms.

I think smacking your for a just reason is ok. When I was a youngster, I kept trying to stick paper clips in the electrical sockets (eia!) When my mom saw me do that, I got the snot damn near beat out of me. It was rough, but let me tell ya, I never brought those two items near each other ever again!

Same thing happened to one of my best friends, when he was young, he started opening up the bottles under the sink and pouring drinks (eia!) Same thing, he got thumped pretty good, and never did he try and do that again.

No, their views are based on the Law not fantasy. Our government and society have set up a set or rules and regulations on how the police are allowed to treat people. Police officers are not allowed to beat the crap out of a person for no reason. Actually, they're not allowed to beat the snot out of people at all. Yes, they're authorized to use physical force, pain compliance, and even deadly force to restrain a prisoner or to save a life. In this case the term "excessive force" is a completely accurate description of the events. The officers probably had just cause to handcuff and restrain the girl, she did kick her shoe at them. They did not have justification to pummel her in the face, slam her on the ground, hit her a few more times while shes prone, then lift her off the ground by her hair.

That is not the view of some liberal fantasy world, that is the law. Now if you think that the laws are allowed to be ignored because "the real world is a hard place" or whatever, then I fear our society has gone past its prime. Everyone has to be held accountable to the law. Cops, Judges, Hookers, Drug dealers, and innocent people are all the same under the law. As a country and as a people, we have been ignoring the abuse by the police for far too long now. This needs to stop for the good of everyone in the country.

they should regulate and tax the snot out of prostitution as well. save the raids for crack downs on the sex slave industry. clean up the profession and make it safer. i dont think america is ready for this discussion though.

You can't really use an analogy for one's personal finances to describe what's going on here. It'd be better to compare a corporation's situation. Sometimes they've got to invest money to get out of the red. Even this is a shorthanded answer.

You are seeing it the wrong way around. A sound government policy would be to pay off the deficit in good economic times and borrow in the bad. To use your analogy it would be more like building savings when you have a job and using those savings when you are in trouble or lose your job.

^ Perhaps I am a little biased about spending on education, but I doubt I could pay for college on my own with a job that doesn't require a college degree.


Also, I can drive around a pothole, but a collapsed bridge may be a bit more difficult. The road doesn't have to be pristine, but my old honda accord won't cross rivers.
