Third Eye Blind: "How's It Going To Be"
Totally know what you mean there. I still frequently listen to the self-titled (one of my favorite albums of all time ), Blue was really good too. I think things started actually becoming hit and miss once the original guitarist left, that guy was just great. They played at Penn last year, but nobody informed me, so I didn't get to see them. I'm hoping to see them sometime though.
Third Eye Blind: "How's It Going To Be"
Their self-titled album is good for long car drives; they had a great unique ambiance/atmosphere to their songs and nice deliberate use of guitar feedback (thanks to Kevin Cadogan, shame he had to part ways with the band) to add to the swirling vortex bass of Arion Salazar. Their drummer is very underrated as he is low-key/restrained yet incredibly consistent as the pulse of the band, reminding me of Ringo Starr. Although it sorta sucks that they kicked off the whole alternative pop-rock craze in the late 90's and countless imitators followed suit and still are. Seeing them live at Merrimack College in 2003, which is about 10 minutes away from where I live, they were anything but poppy. The songs on their subsequent albums are hit and miss but it's hard for me to find fault in any of their songs from the first self-titled album.
Dancing Woman with Flaming Hoops...Compelling and Beautiful
Band: West Indian Girl, Song: What are you afraid of. Album: Self Titled; West Indian Girl
Glacier melting into a river
According to some of the YouTube commenters, this is the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina. I would have guessed Canadian Rockies, but that shows what I know
The song is Storms in Africa by Enya, which is on her Watermark album. That and her self-titled debut album are pure magic, for those who haven't overplayed them to death like me.
Burning a candle at both ends
band called ratatat from their self-titled album.
kevin143 (Member Profile)
just saw the video about the candle lit on both sides if you are still interested... the song in the video is made by a band called "ratatat" from there first album which is self titled. I don't have the album in front of me, but it's them for sure.
Typolution
I can see your point, looris. Hm, why the heck not? Let's see if anyone objects.
And yeah, aidos, Ratatat are friggin' awesome. Discovered 'em by accident around the time they released their first, self-titled, album which I also recommend ;-D
The Thorn Birds--What About Love (Heart)
The Thorn Birds is a 1977 best-selling novel by Colleen McCullough, an Australian author. In 1983 it was adapted as a television mini-series that, during its television run became the United States' second highest rating mini-series of all time behind Roots; both series were produced by television veteran David L. Wolper.
The mini-series starred Richard Chamberlain, Rachel Ward, Barbara Stanwyck, Christopher Plummer, Bryan Brown, Mare Winningham, Philip Anglim and Jean Simmons. It was directed by Daryl Duke.
Set primarily on Drogheda, a fictional sheep station in the Australian outback, the story focuses on the Cleary family and spans the years 1908 to 1962.
Song is from the self-titled "Heart" album, 1985

Bad News are a spoof rock band, created for the Channel 4 television series The Comic Strip Presents....
The band also guested on some TV music shows and released a self-titled album, consisting of thrashy rock songs interspersed with arguments amongst the band. Brian May of Queen produced the album, which included a cover of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

National Geographic debunks martial arts' Chi
iaui said: "why is this being trumpeted as fully 'debunking' it?!? So the self-titled 'chi-master' couldn't perform his trick once. Once. Wait, should I say it again? Once."
This is just a clip from a full-length broadcast - it sounded cut off at the end. I should hope there was more debunking. Perhaps if someone could Tivo the repeat and report back?
National Geographic debunks martial arts' Chi
All talk of whether it's BS aside, why is this being trumpeted as fully 'debunking' it?!? So the self-titled 'chi-master' couldn't perform his trick once. Once. Wait, should I say it again? Once.
All this makes the scientist used in the film look like a quack. I mean... they just present the theory that the only reason these people are being knocked out is that they're under hypnotic suggestion and then show that there exists at least one person in the entire human race who might be immune to such hypnotic suggestion. A subject pool of one. Now that's science at it's best.
No wonder people believe the Bush administration when they 'debunk' Global Warming.
How to Not Ride Your Bike: NYC
The track is called "Bandwitch," the second to last track on the self-titled Broken Social Scene album.
Broken Social Scene: 7/4 Shoreline
Broken Social Scene is a Canadian mega-indie-rock-band; this is the big single from their current self-titled album.
The song title refers to the fact that the song is in 7/4 time - as opposed to typical 4/4, ONE, two, Three, four beat you normally hear in pop/rock songs.
Aside from the unique time signature it's a really fun & enjoyable song.
*(Mega? When they played 7/4 Shoreline on Conan, he said they "need more guitars". There were 5 of them on stage.)
