I don't think it's that unusual to describe drinks by their origin. Cuban rum for instance is very much a thing, as is American Whiskey vs Scotch Whisky vs Irish Whiskey (or the highly regarded Japanese).

And you're actually not exactly 50% of both parents! You get a mixture of both but not exactly 50/50. Both of my grandmothers were 100% Norwegian, so both my parents thought they were 50% Norwegian, so my brother and I thought we were 50% Norwegian. I did the ancestry test and it turns out I'm 73% Norwegian! 11% Irish/Scotch, and the rest is European! Craziness!

They should have put more people in this who actually enjoy Scotch and Bourbon. I think only the guy who does the Morgan Freeman impression was the only one with some experience with these drinks.

Eh its all about moderation. Having a bit of scotch with your ganja toke isn't going to be harmful, and can be quite pleasant. Overdoing weed or alcohol, nevermind both, leads to bad and potentially dangerous experience. Enough with either/or puritanism.

For what it's worth, as an Irish whiskey drinker (in both senses of the phrase) I can tell you that the nicest whiskeys I've tasted from outside Ireland and Scotland are Japanese, including a Santori whose name eludes me.

In case you're interested, next comes Indian (a lovely tipple called Amrut Fusion), followed by a few nice American samples... I'm not a big fan of bourbon, hence the placing.

As for the spelling thing, yes, usually Whisky is Scotch and Whiskey is Irish, but that's not 100% true, and if that's your worst spelling mistake after a few then you're doing well.

I had a friend who hanging out at someones house. they were passing around a sipping scotch, i don't know what brand, but it was supposedly expensive and could peel paint with a splash it was so strong. They ran out of sipping glasses, so they poured his in a normal shot glass. He didn't know better and shot the thing in front of them all. They all gasped and said "NO!! DON'T SHOT IT!" lol he said it was the most excruciating sensation ever had drinking something. everyone had a good laugh after it.

And @Sagemind, you couldn't be further from the truth. If getting drunk is your aim, whiskey is one of the most expensive ways of doing that.

As for the video, I'm torn. On one hand, whiskey! and women! I like those things.
