Steven Sinofsky, president of the Windows division *did* get fired shortly after Windows 8 launch.

Of course they're not saying why, but one of the rumors was that Sinofsky alienated many coworkers and was notoriously hard to work with.

In fairness though, I haven't played with Win8 since the first developer preview. I've got an iso of the release version but just haven't had time to mess with it. And with all the negative press I've heard so far and the fact that Win7 is great and still not all that old yet, I just don't see it as a priority.

WinXP held up for a very long time (in fact it's still holding up for lots of businesses) and so I think people liked the longevity as opposed to these rapid fire releases MS normally does. So when 8 came out, I think the collective response was "Do we need this? We just settled into Win7" I'm sure there are many under-the-hood improvements in Win8, but like the reviewer mentioned, if your UI sucks or is at the very least, controversial as Win8 undoubtedly is, it's what your OS sinks or swims on, regardless of how good the OS may be underneath.

The prospect seems so outlandish but with all the disinformation we are fed, It's hard to know for sure.
Every fiber in my being says this is the most batshit crazy thinking I've ever seen.

But if it's so crazy then:
• Why do the experiments continue?
• Why did the highest level of the US military buy out every piece of HAARP and classify it at the highest level?
• Why won't they inform the public as to what they are really doing?

Perhaps some declassification would still the rumors a bit.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I do have trust-issues when it comes to Governments and Power.

At one time I was on track to join Mensa. I passed the tests with no problem. The supercilious, rich bitch I dealt with on the phone (she ran Mensa in my area--"Oh, I couldn't meet with you next week, we travel Europe during the summers.") was a problem--but she's just one person, that didn't turn me off of the whole group. However, when I confirmed the rumor that I had heard about Mensa gatherings where the members all wear name tags with their IQ's prominently displayed, I turned my back on the group.

It's been a very long time since Toyota has had a car like this. I think this will be the next major tuner car for gear heads. The mild difference between the Subaru version and the Toyota (Scion) version is going to make the Toyota much more appealing (unless it becomes too common and people get the Subaru just to have a different badge, and color options, then modify the suspension themselves). Toyota is talking about using the same flat boxter engine with turbo applications in future cars (rumors are about it being the next Supra), but the turbo combination doesn't seem likely to make it to America any time soon. Fortunately, Toyota knows what it has and is trying to court the after market tuners. They've already given an FR-S to GReddy, and it's only a matter of time before AEM, HKS, and the other attainable tuners start pumping out functional improvement modifications.

The engine hits the ideal 100 HP per liter of engine mark. It's rear wheel drive. It's inexpensive and aimed at a youthful audience. This car's going to be a big thing.

It's not a comparison of M. Night's work to QT's, but a comparison of how the anticipation of their newer films has waned. In M. Night's case, it has nosedived so far that people, myself included, now audibly guffaw at the "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" brag in trailers for his projects.

The problem with QT is not that his latest works are crap, but given the precedents he set, my expectations for greatness far exceed the quality of his latest works. I'm not at all a hater or even complainer of his latest films. In fact, I like them a lot, and I really appreciate his interpretations of bygone-era genres, but the honest truth is I walk out of his films with a tinge of disappointment.

I just need to set my expectations lower, but then I go and re-watch Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction and it fouls that whole plan up.

I hope he'll someday make the Vega Brothers film that was rumored about so long ago.
