I have a good story for that comment.
My wife and I went to Iceland (I went to a formula offroad event while there!) a while back, and one B&B host told us that for years they sent videos of Formula Offroad to SkyTV (the European version of ESPN) with no response. Eventually they got through to someone to ask why, and were told “SkyTV doesn’t broadcast remote control cars”….yes, for over a decade they assumed no human would drive like that and it must be RC cars! When they proved it was real full size cars with real live drivers, it was immediately put on air and has been popular ever since.
Good stuff.

Side note…these events are one main way Iceland funds most of its rescue teams that save stupid tourists that go off trail and get lost.

After Biden’s new treaty announced today, Ukrainian military superiority is assured (they were winning already using RC boats and planes, how do you think they’ll do with F-16 squadrons and Patriot missile systems?).
😂 As if they did it just to make you look silly, Russian state tv announced today that it is so dire that banks have actually stopped allowing any withdrawals, and Russian stock markets collapsed and went offline after announcing they would no longer trade with dollars or euros!

Russia is winning? ARE YOU KIDDING!?! Russia is COLLAPSING!! 😂

BTW-Russia was a party to the trilateral agreement that by treaty secured Ukraine’s borders against all incursions. They not only chose to invade purely by choice, it was a clear violation of the anti nuclear proliferation agreement and in fact (by some interpretations) gives Ukraine the legal right to respond with nuclear weapons….if only they still had any, but they gave them all up voluntarily for those exact assurances from Russia and ourselves to protect their borders in perpetuity (forever).

I’ve had a few, from the ubiquitous grasshopper to a racing Kyoto 4wd. I remember the old speed controllers not being good at minimum power…a tiny bit of stick and you would hear the controller whine but no movement, a bit more it would shudder a bit but not move, a bit more and it would suddenly jump forward a few inches before I could pull power back to crawl. Tiny precise movement was difficult, at least for me. That was also over 30 years back.
Granted, I was known for only having two throttle positions in my RC driving repertoire…full off (and breaking) or full throttle. My full size off road racing style was similar.
I still think the transition from static to in motion is hard to control at those scales (maybe electronics can overcome that now), and it’s easy to overshoot the needed power, especially in the heat of battle.

Easy to do with RC. The difference between enough throttle to move and way too much is minuscule…or at least was when I had RC cars.

The Russian army is 10 times larger….Ukrainian grandmothers seem to be stronger than the Russian military at this point. Indeed, RC airplanes are taking it to the Russians. Bayraktar!

The unfortunate part is there’s a crazy person in charge who seems itching to use nukes before he’s ousted. I wouldn’t be surprised if the military failure was planned to give him the excuse to go nuclear.
Remember, he recently said there’s no point in the world existing if Russia isn’t part of it….guaranteed he thinks the same about Russia existing if he’s not president/dictator for life….so to extrapolate, there’s no point in the world existing if Putin isn’t in charge of Russia….and he has nukes.
