The Death Star Architect Speaks Out

Skittles - Taste the Rainbow

Ridiculous.

Have you seen the REAL skittles commercials? Like the one where some guy has a tree growing out of his stomach, and his mother comes by with a wheelbarrow, and he's like all, "Hey, Mom. Can we see a doctor to get this removed, so I can have a normal life?" and she's all "That's crazy talk" and she tickles him, and all the Skittles he's growing out of his gut-tree come raining down cuz he's laughing, and she like takes a whole crap load of skittles away, giggling, and leaves her son out in the middle of the yard?

You know, THAT one?

This Indian robot movie might blow your mind

So I just watched the movie, having been inspired by this clip. I'll tell you, the movie is more i-Robot than terminator in a lot of ways. For instance, the movie is 3 hours long, and this 10 minute clip had about 50% of the real action scenes in it. There are a number of other more Matrix style action scenes with a single robot, and a bunch of scrubs, but otherwise it's wysiwyg. There are about 20 of your typical bollywood song and dance numbers (which is not to be scoffed at, considering it generally constituted Ms. Rai dancing and dressing suggestively).

Still, I think it was better at being i-Robot than i-Robot was, largely because of the 20 minutes of CG filled gratuitous action. So long as you go into it appropriately inebriated and prepared to laugh, it's worth filling a rainy day with.

See what happens when your country's robotic-spectacle-loving culture affects faraway lands that have budding movie industries?

Nothing budding about Bollywood, they make around 1000 films a year over there!

This also gets an upvote for Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Indeed, yes on all accounts.

I first heard this driving, late night, from Austin after a camping trip, read hour and a half sleep two nights. Driving a 15 passenger van loaded with family. I caught this on a radio program. The DJ prefaced as say this was a rare CD. The energy took me all the way home.(Albeit at 110mph a good way)

I tried for over a year to get a copy. I cannot remember if from France or Australia but I believe the latter. I have almost all of her available CD's and have read and researched her and Rai. The Wiki account, I just read it myself after reading your comment, is accurate but I wish it was more detailed. She was a piece of work. What a set of pipes.

That's quite a sound, and a totally amazing life. At least if Wikipedia even approaches the truth.

Don't get me wrong. I think she's fantastically gorgeous, funny, and smart, but I also think that she lives in "the bubble." Did you guys see the last episode of 30 Rock? It's about the bubble of encouragement and approval that beautiful people live in. I thought of that when I watched this video because both the studio and the VS audiences seem overly-enthusiastic, if you ask me.

I don't disagree with you that this lady is probably in her own bubble. But in this interview Letterman came across as being in even more of a bubble of his own, accentuated by his apparent ignorance of her, her life, and the culture from which she had come. After seeing the clip where her character decries the businessman's proposal of creating an Indian getaway where people would not have to deal with India, I can see how Letterman asking her if she would ever consider moving permanently to Hollywood could have been insulting to her. Hence her barbed reaction.

Now from what I have seen of Letterman, I would never describe him as an ignorant person. He usually comes across to me as intelligent, well read, witty, and generally a pleasant fellow. This may just have been a case of being (uncharacteristically) poorly prepped for the interview --an honest mistake. Letterman will probably not remembered this as one of his favorite interviews (even if it was fun to watch).

^True but "Aishwarya Rai talks with David Letterman" isn't as appealing a title, plus she got in a few jabs. I especially like when he asks her if she is a huge star globally and she basically says, "well you never heard of me".

hey guys....by the taliban, you mean the same kind of 19 guys(who later turned out to be only 6) who sneaked thru the security in the airports on 9/11, security that was in he hand of jeb bush´s firm, in all the airports they went thru. you meant those geniuses who spent most of their lives feedin on goatmilk. is that what you mean by the taliban? those guys were clever, to attack a city in the u.s at the same day, the only day of the year(THE WHOLE FUCKING YEAR)the air-force doing practice.....wake up, the game is rigged, and you look silly...........

prior to 9/11...in the year 2001, 66 times planes dissapeared from radar, or contact was lost.in 66 cases out of 66, fighter jets were sent up there to locate those planes, on 9/11, 0! not a single plane. WHAT ON EARTH DOES IT TAKE YOU FOOLS TO START TO ASK QUESTIONS? i believe dick cheney, whose first child is born 9 months and 2 days after congress passed laws that married men without children could be sent to vietnam, smiling thru the the windows of the cock-pit just before it hit the tower, is still not convincing for you. may god, that imagenary old man, up ther, have mercy on your souls, for being so easily manipulated....amen, as they said in egypt(1500 yrs before jesus, when praised their god, amen, or was his name ame rai? nevertheless, wake up.)
