Amazing New Japanese Hanabi Fireworks

newtboy says...

Not everyone is in the industry. CGI is used as a layman’s term, although the professional definition still fits.

Um…”they” who? what sales pitch? WTF are you talking about? I used it as a tag. WHAT!?! Are you on crack, sir?

If it’s an image of reality altered digitally, it’s not purely cg, it’s cgi…

SFX is the overall category, not a sub genre of CGI.

Yes, their three examples of well known blockbuster CGI films were pure CG images…they were not an all inclusive list, they weren’t even varied examples of all different types of CGI, they were three of the best known examples of pure CGI in main stream cinema.

OMG, that WAS your argument. LMFAHS!!! Feel shame. So incredibly stupid. That means absolutely nothing beyond those were the three movies they chose as well known examples. It in no way argues that the rest of the definition they gave is in any way incorrect. Derp!

Like saying the article on dogs had a pictures of a poodle, so all dogs must have curly hair. Just silly.

they're using "CGI" as a substitute for "CG" which, in the industry, specifically refers to 3D generated assets, as i stated a while ago. NO ONE in the industry uses the term "CGI" for all the reasons i also stated above. they are using "CGI" in this sales pitch because they're aware laypeople know that term and don't know the distinction between CG, FX, comp, previs, and all those department's sub categories. all their examples, including the one you quoted, are referring to CG generated images, which are explicitly NOT 2D processing, filters, compositing, editing, or DI.

Undercover: EXPOSING MAGA Hypocrisy on Afghanistan

luxintenebris says...

Hypocrisy is thy name.

Or at least it is widespread in the ranks of the GOP poodles.

Shortlist of their duality...

- Worry about the Afghani women but shut down US women's access to LEGAL medical services.
- Want to bring education to Afghanistan but oppose school curriculum here in the US. (i.e. their head is their Allah)
- Want Small Government (less interference) but use their power as Big Government to override local LEGAL authority.
- As Ayn Rand-ites, say the individual is important, but any difference of opinion brings banishment.
- Say government doesn't work, they get elected, then don't work.
- Say the Unborn deserve the right to live, but health services for ALL Americans go for a premium. (bring them in but take no responsibility for them - and still believe they hold the moral high ground)

...and it goes on and on and on...they say one thing; do another.

Would guess BK33 and TT both are English Only types as one reads their posts, it would only be fitting.

Are We Living in a Dream? The Rabbit Hole with Deepak Chopra

newtboy says...

Not all dogs are poodles...
Just because all dreams are in your head does not mean every thought is a dream, and even if that were true (it's not) you don't live in your head, you live in the real world. That we live in a dream is ridiculous and plain wrong, IMO.
I will admit I never liked Chopra or his ideas. He always seems to misstate facts at the beginning of his hypothesis, then builds on that mistake.

Die Antwoord - Pitbull Terrier

Sorry for hating, but I just finished watching this and the first thing that came to mind was "I wonder what an interview with this guy would sound like, he must have the mental capacity of a poodle", so I Googled, and sure enough:

Hilarious really.

Crazy Goat Lick-Attacking A Bored Dog

chingalera says...

Oh man no-Airedales?? Another on the list of dogs you never see the full potential of in the U.S. because the average folks who own 'em never allow them to realize their bred potential. Ten notches above the Dalmatian on the sharp list with horrifying breath and that stinky, oily stank you can't wash off. Known plenty of Airedales and would rather not.

They can be quirky fun sometimes though, like a kid yer glad belongs to someone else.

I don't sleight anyone's preference for doggies unless it's a toy poodle or a a chihuahua fixation, abused to roam the shared space of humans without any manners.

What SHOULD my look be there newt, huh?

How dare you deride the noble breed of Airedale Terriers!?!
Once again, sir, you can only deride that which you don't know. It's not a good look.

Dog protects baby from savage hair dryer attack!

eric3579 says...

I thought the same thing but assume its some pro dog grooming blow dryer after reading video description and doing a google search for images of pet blow dryers.

"Alyssa Bitante is a professional dog groomer, which means her poodle is well used to the sound of a blow dryer. But since Alyssa’s daughter was born, the dog has rushed to her side as soon as he hears the sound. As Alyssa explained to Storyful, “Now he feels he must protect her from its evil!"
