My brother loves this game. He played it so much that he actually achieved the impossible: successfully keeping JC's brother alive from that whole hotel rescue mission. The game actually had something programmed when you had your brother rescued, but for all that work it wasn't as glorious.

I think you're supposed to stay and save your brother, he is alive in the sequel after all. The first time I played it, I got hurt, so ran away like a coward.

The 2nd time I played it, I stayed and fought, but they kept coming. I figured it might be scripted so you can't save him, so I bolted out the window. Apparently you just have to try and he survives because when I got to the place later in the game where I found his dead body in the lab, but this time he was alive.

I played it a third time, but this time I knew they were coming so I planted mines by the door and in the hall where they come in and was able to defeat them.
