Master Blaster (Slow Mo Paintball SHOTGUN)

Seattle cop kills nonthreatening pedestrian

SDGundamX says...

@Matthu
@hpqp

So, after putting on my detective hat and going through advanced searches for a while (can you tell it's a Saturday and I'm happy to be at work?) here are the precedents I discovered.

Videos of the exact same event taken from different angles (same audio)

Wind Turbine Self-Destructing
http://www.videosift.com/video/Windmill-Destroyed-By-Wind (original)
http://videosift.com/video/Wind-turbine-self-destructs (potential dupe)

In this case the majority (6-4) barely decided it was not a dupe and it stayed.

Window Adjusts Lighting
http://videosift.com/video/Philips-Daylight-Window-Concept-Presentation (original)
http://www.videosift.com/video/Ambient-window-adjusts-lighting-hue-and-patterns (potential dupe)

In this case, kronosposeidon conceded the extra camera angles added nothing and left it up to Farhad2000 whether to declare it a dupe or not. Farhad apparently graciously decided not to.

Mythbusters paint the Mona Lisa with Paintballs
http://videosift.com/video/MythBusters-CPU-vs-GPU-or-Paintball-Cannons-are-Cool (original)
http://videosift.com/video/Mythbusters-Paint-the-Mona-Lisa-with-Paintballs (potential dupe)

In this case, the original garnered far more votes than the dupe, so there wasn't much controversy. Consensus seems to be that it is a dupe. However, to this day it remains Sifted.

Mentos and Diet Coke Explosion
http://www.videosift.com/video/Record-breaking-Mentos-and-Diet-Coke-Explosions (not sure)
http://videosift.com/video/Mentos-and-Coke-Light-World-Record-Attempt (not sure)

In this case, Maatc and Ant came to an amicable agreement in which they agreed to put links to each others' videos in the descriptions.

Suggestion

Precedent seems to be that the same event captured with different angles but containing the same audio is not a dupe. However, precedent also seems to suggest that most Sifters are gracious to each other and try to spread the votes around fairly. So, maybe each of you could put a link to each others' vids in your description and hopefully people who vote for one will go and vote for the other. Sound fair?

How to Disarm Gunmen, Like a Boss.

I wish they would do these demos with a paintball gun. I counted at least half where I would have pulled the trigger before he touched the pistol. It looks fine until you realize how quickly the trigger could be pulled, even an expert like this would die better than 50/50.

What does he gain by faking a Russian accent? One word:

Opulence.

>> ^kronosposeidon:

What would this guy have to gain by faking a Russian accent? Anything? Does speaking with a Russian accent have some sort of cachet that I'm not aware of?
Besides, I checked the video on YouTube, and he has his Twitter URL listed in the information. I checked out his tweets and read this one he posted only 2 days ago:
"Do I have any subscribers in the Chicago area who would like to play paintball with me?"
Now, would he be asking the public at large to play paintball with him, in which you run around, shoot at people, get shot at, and get all sorts of adrenaline pumping through your system, AND make sure his Russian accent never slips while he's in the heat of a paintball battle? Because that would make him look bad to his fellow players, wouldn't it? And wouldn't that info immediately make it back to Twitter, making him look like a big fucking phony to everyone? And for what? Just so people will think that he's Russian?
Again, does speaking with a Russian accent have some sort of cachet that I'm not aware of?
???

The Russian accent is fake, He has been using the accent for a very long time as it is what got him famous on youtube for his Call of duty commentaries. He started off on Youtube a bit late when it came to doing call of duty commentaries so he had to do something stupid/crazy to get noticed, luckily for him it worked.
Most people who subscribe to him are aware of the fact his accent is fake as he does not try to hide it and tells people quite often. This is one of his older videos where his did a dual commentary with himself as both FPSrussia and FPSkyle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyBGXQDStk4
When he does live commentaries over skype with other youtube members or public events like the paintball he uses his normal voice.

Not really sure. He could just be doing it for a laugh. Or it's simply part of some ongoing shtick. He probably doesn't give a hoot either way.

Paintball gun + can on head - mask = STUPID

Unfortunately, given the fact that he did this in the first place, it's unlikely he'll learn anything from this experience. He's probably out there somewhere right now saying "You'd better aim better this time". It's not even necessarily the fault of the shooters aim. I once shot a guy behind a tree because my barrel was fouled and putting english on the paintball.>> ^sillma:
Serves the tard right tbh, maybe he'll learn to think ahead now.

Aye, I fear he'll not learn anything as well, but I sure hope he will. And aye, paintball guns aren't the most accurate things ever, the spread at that distance can easily be from the actual aimed line to the eye. Ah well, not the first kid I know of who has lost an eye in play.

Say there, Sarz.

Letting you know that I've checked out Community based on your recommendation and I am very pleasantly surprised. The one that did it for me was the chicken fingers episode: very clever. The season ended quite strongly (despite the requisite romantic BS) and I'm glad they got renewed.

Just wanted to give you props. On Christmas.

Do you need any more reasons to watch Community?
Yes.

Okay, here's a few:

-It's hilarious.
-It's one of the smartest shows on network TV right now.
-It's got a great ensemble cast.
-It's amazingly self-aware, but not in a smug way.
-The way it uses movie parodies is downright brilliant (eg. this paintball episode, or the episodes this season that parodied zombie movies and space movies).

I could go on, but I'll just say that Community is one of the best shows on TV right now, and that I pity the fool that isn't watching it. The first few episodes were kind of so-so, but it's really developed into something special.
