It might be, if there was any evidence whatsoever of these claims….but….

“Based on our research, we rate MISSING CONTEXT the claim that people were paid $10 per ballot in Georgia’s November 2020 election because it is misleading and unproven. This assertion from Trump is based on a complaint about ballot harvesting, which has prompted an investigation by the Georgia’s Secretary of State office. True the Vote has not identified the witness who claims he was paid, and the group is not alleging that the ballots themselves were fraudulent. Georgia investigators previously looked into a similar allegation and said there was not enough evidence to justify an investigation. “

Despite no more evidence, Georgia is claiming to investigate this unsubstantiated anonymous claim again as of January ….good luck, doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, another baseless hypothetical claim.

One partisan “trump won” group claimed one alleged anonymous person made the unsubstantiated claim they were paid to “harvest ballots” back in 2021 but the investigation went no where because there was no evidence, no claimant, no proof of payment, not even a suggestion that any ballots were tampered with.

Very unlike the same schemes by N Carolina Republicans in 2016 who did collect open/unsealed ballots and admitted to filling them out for Republicans in any race the voter had not voted in….but you don’t want to hear about more proven voter fraud, you want to talk about unproven hypothetical voter fraud.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-north-carolina/north-carolina-republican-operative-charged-in-election-fraud-scheme-idUSKCN1QG2FS

Republicans do want, actually need election fraud. Fraudulently denying legitimate voters their vote is a kind of voter fraud, and is definitely part of the right wing playbook, Trump once admitted Republicans would never win another election if every citizen over 18 voted. Republicans, not Democrats or Independents, keep getting found guilty of it, over and over and over and over and over and over……and over and over and over. Sometimes massive schemes like the one above….or the president actually saying on television that his voters should vote twice, once by mail and again in person and see if they’re caught.

If you think no one wants election fraud, you need to look again.

Both my reply & the video itself are both tongue-in-cheek. So who knows the "stop before the line" mistake is intentional by the narrator or not?

What you described is pretty much correct. Where I live (suburb of Toronto - Canada's largest city of ~6 million) I've only seen 2 aroundabout in my area, and they're in located in low traffic residential area and they're the tiniest of aroundabouts. But I love them, they're confusing to us North American, I guess, but they're quite efficient.

Oops, my bad. I just focused in on the one minute mark where he said "step one is to stop before the line. Then make sure to yield to vehicles..." I falsely equated that to a stop sign in my brain, but who stops first and then checks for traffic? Seems he has it backwards. Check for traffic while approaching and only yield/stop if necessary.

I've had very little experience with different kinds of roundabouts. The ones i've used are very basic. I know there are more complex ones with multiple lanes, bike lanes, and pedestrian cross walks but never have i personally come acrossed one. Decades ago however i did cross, as a pedestrian, the roundabout at the Arc De Triomphe In Paris. I couldn't imagine navigating that thing in a car.

The Death Couloir - Mont Blanc

No, I'm all in favor of Morons--

However, I'm not in favor of the amazing people in SAR putting their lives on the line to recover the smears lefts on rocks that used to be these people. Living in WA, we have a lot of "really wants to kill you" wilderness here, including North Cascades Nat'l Park and Olympic Nat'l Park. Every single year, someone's predated body needs to be pulled out of the middle of one of these places by either a helo crew or the poor bastards who have to hike a bazillion miles to pack out what's left of Chuckles.

The number of SAR people who've died here is sobering. Every single one of them could have just walked away, but they went into danger's way to save people too stupid to save themselves. Sometimes their reward is to be spit on, like the ranger at Yellowstone who was berated by the father of a kid who dived into a hot spring after his dog (by "kid", I mean adult kid, not Timmy). The father wanted his kid's body recovered, no matter what. The ranger had to explain that the kid completely dissolved about five minutes after he fell in. The father then refused to speak to the ranger any further.

This shit doesn't happen in a vacuum. Someone's going to have to look at these human bird droppings and see that shit in their sleep for the rest of their lives.

There is no observable Stop sign in the video nor IRL at roundabouts though. It would be absurd and a huge faux pas if the animator added Stop signs in it. Yield and Stop signs shouldn't co-exist.

Bah! North Americans just don't get it! This is a very practical, and timely public service video for Bosnians & especially Ukrainians right now. But also a subliminal advert financed by the Western MIC to side hustle their wares to a public facing the brink of possible war from a certain country with MiGs.

eric3579 said:

I'm not buying it!

... my understanding, while very limited, of how roundabouts like this would work is that there wouldn't be stop signs and the general rule is to yield to anyone who is already in the roundabout. Other than that everything else seems dead on.

I Crashed My Plane

The FAA is up there with the TSA, DHS and the NSA as far as TLAs you should NEVER piss-off.

I got pulled over by DHS while I was driving through North Cascades National Park a few years ago. They weren't even marked trucks. One pulled ahead of me, the second one was right on my rear bumper and the "PULL OVER NOW!" was like the voice of God.

I was going camping and they made me pull every fucking thing out of my Subie. Then they went through it all. They confiscated my two pre-rolls and my pipe ("you're on Federal land"), then they called "backup". I sat on the side of the road at Newhalem for about two hours while they dug through all my stuff like a half-dozen times and kept asking me the same stupid-ass questions ("why are you here", "do you know anyone in this area?", "have you ever been arrested for a crime in the US or abroad?") over and over. People where driving by and looking at me and my wife like we were the whitest ISIS fighters ever.

They gave me the ol' "You're free to go" and drove off.

Fuckers took my dope!!

Around Cape Horn (1929)

fuzzyundies says...

They went round the wrong way? Jeebus, Chile is a huge leeward shore to avoid... That bit about having to then fight the current to go 200 miles further west before you can turn north so that you have enough sea room not to get smashed onto the rocks of the Chilean coast when the weather turns rough... We had engines at least as a backup, but just in case of emergency. Plus we had weather radar and modern forecasts so we could plan a route to avoid the worst of what was to come. Respect.

I especially loved the part about how sailors on the upper yards like the royals or the masthead being "as close to heaven as a sailor ever gets".

No. Not access to the cameras farther north…where I am.

That’s fine and good if you live in LA area, but it stops pretty far south….and only gives access to around 1% of the cameras, and they only have still shots. We should have access to every one in areas open to the public in full resolution moving images, IMO.
Again, we paid for them.

https://cwwp2.dot.ca.gov/vm/iframemap.htm Has the whole state, but still in still shots it seems. Not updated often enough.
