Intentionally or not, I think Snowden nails it here as far as why these mass surveillance programs exist:

The key here being "throw money," not the search for a magic solution. Who stands on the receiving end of the money "thrown?" Identify them and you identify the source and purpose of these programs.

It only seems amateurish because it's not supposed to be taken seriously. This "exclusive" isn't a big deal since you can go anywhere and find much more in depth interviews, or simply the product of his leaks which is what's really important. I don't really care what Snowden has to say, but NBC news does because that's what they're trying to do.

If you make it about the person, it's easy to turn around, it's easy to dismiss this one guy. If he ever slips up, looks stupid or something whatever he did and the people that support what he did can be ignored easily.

So this is all about a distraction. Act like this "exclusive" is a big fat hairy deal, and only bring up useless everything, nothing of value or substance really.

This about how he sees himself, so it's about ego, do you see yourself as a patriot. The title is immediately meant to draw a line, who agrees who doesn't, read the article with your feelings. Next NBC themselves.

First NSA disputing his claims, people calling him naive and basically presenting no evidence just like the NSA hasn't. Then Kerry and some other guy saying he doesn't have to stay in Russia, that it's not the US's fault for him being there. Completely absurd bullshit, and no one would be allowed to take Snowdens side in these talkbacks. It's useless. On to Fox News

Well that's an interesting copyright claim. So this video is from the official Fallon channel, Brain Williams is also NBC of course, but still a "Breaking News Video Network, Inc.". Which a google search says is an weather video footage company (I'm not kidding).

Looks like NBC took it down.

Obama has gone above and beyond the usual bureaucrat when it comes to making his own rules and to hell with anyone who wants to oppose him. The media doesn't challenge him because he's a Democrat, the Democrats don't challenge him because he's African-American, and the Republicans don't challenge him because they don't want to be a target of Eric Holder, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, etc ad infinitum, plus they're ball-less.
So he's got free rein, he can't be re-elected and he doesn't care too much because Michelle could probably carry on where he left off.

So, for all three platforms (Lenovo, Macbook Air, Android phone), it did indeed appear to need some or all of the following actions:
1) You had to not update the OS's
2) You had to go to "bad" websites, at least one connected to Sochi duping
3) You had to click on things and do deeply unwise stuff once you were on the site.

That makes me feel better.

I don't watch MSNBC... or NBC... or Fox News for that matter.

But you know... keep on denying climate change and then have the gall to tell other people they don't read or listen to facts.

I'm thinkin' it's blocked for ya since it works on this end-But as has been historically true with SNL/NBC embeds, it'll probably be dead soon anyhow...

is this embedded on yahoo because yahoo hosts videos but no one watches stuff on there? maybe NBC were cool with this being on there for the same reason
