You're going to like this one:

Attorney Justin Moore said Jones “was dealing with a minor car issue after accidentally triggering his alarm and being unable to disable the security system” when police arrived. According to Moore, Jones was then “commanded to step out of his vehicle.”

When he exited his vehicle he tried to “explain the issue” and he was then “shot once in the stomach” by the unidentified Mesquite police officer, Moore said.

"Several officers then attacked Mr. Jones and attempted to perform an anal cavity search on the streets. Mr. Jones reacted to the unlawful sodomy and was consequently shot a second time in the back,” according to Moore.

Shot, sodomized, shot again, detained, isolated from legal counsel.

Mesquite Police Department. Off to the gulag with everyone involved in this shit.

Michigan Republicans Said What-What? Not in the Butt!

I guess I didn't understand that part. That's incredibly depressing, that even discussing removing unconstitutional parts of a law would stop all discussion. We're worse off than even I imagined.

OK, considering what Mr Jones said, "Futile" I can agree with, although it also makes me depressed to think that's where we are as a country.

Sorry, I don't know acronyms, it probably is commonly known.

Touche. I guess yes, I can imagine a politician supporting it, but I WISH I couldn't. I WANT to think we're more adult than that....I would be wrong, but that's what I WANT to think.

Please note, we had a ruling against ALL these laws in 2003, so another precedent from 2015 doesn't give me much hope we won't see more of this.

Again, it doesn't make it WORSE, because it's already terrible. IF these laws were unused and just never removed, that would be one thing. Since they are STILL used against people, this is a battle I wish someone had picked.

Republicans are Pro-Choice!

As an aside, I'm super excited about the inevitable outcome of this discussion, where we all hold hands and proudly proclaim that "We Solved Abortion!" It's gonna be so cool, guys. So cool.

@oritteropo
That's a very reasoned approach to the issue. (To me, it seems "mean" even earlier in development, but that's an individual value judgement.) Obviously "avoidance of meanness" isn't your entire justification, but setting the mark at "theoretical biological independence" hints at the underlying logic. On its face, it sounds like an extension of the "it's her body" argument, i.e. "It's her body...until the fetus doesn't need her anymore".

@packo @acidSpine
"I refuse to discuss this issue because Republicans\Christians are hypocrites" is a misdirection, and it's a dead-end. The argument is just as easily flipped: "Those liberals cry foul every time we drop a bomb on a terrorist, but they don't blink an eye killing unborn babies here at home," and it's just as fallacious that way.
BUT, it gives us both a common enemy: moral relativism. Moral relativism is why we need legislation, standards, and guidelines. Moral relativism is also where we dive into the "increase happiness/decrease suffering" balance that's frequently referenced in these debates.
Is it OK to kill an innocent person if that's what it takes to kill the terrorist mastermind who will kill (or incite the killing of) dozens later? What if it's five innocents? A dozen? What if we're only fairly certain he's a terrorist?
Is it OK to terminate a pregnancy (developing human, "kill a baby", etc) if it avoids the theoretical suffering of the mother and child later? Or if it avoids compounding the poverty crisis, or the healthcare crisis?
acidSpine, you claim this is "a moral issue, not a legislative one," but many moral issues get legislated because morals are obviously not enough by themselves, because perspectives and emotions cloud our judgement on moral issues. @VoodooV is right, we kill sometimes. Sometimes we feel it is necessary, and sometimes we feel it is the best, or at least most expedient course of action. Killing is a moral issue as well, but we legislate it because morals aren't adequate.
"Your honor, as you can see, the young Mr Jones was a dick. We have shown evidence of his abuse of animals and callous disregard for the emotions of others. These traits have been shown reliability to lead to sociopathic tendencies, child and spousal abuse, and criminal behavior in adulthood, so his death will lead to an overall decrease in suffering in the world. I have done us all a favor. You're welcome. The defense rests."

Alex Jones: The "Justin Biebler" Rant

rottenseed says...

Alex Jones is an idiot. Wow, you're really being an "explorer" yourself by kicking a dead horse. We get it, the majority of humanity enjoys the vapid comforts of common entertainment. But that's not fucking new, Mr. Jones. That's a tale as old as time.

Larry King's Saddened By Jenny McCarthy's Autistic Son

legacy0100 says...

Modern medicine had been wrong before so who knows. I remember back in my high school years when my biology teacher argued that what happens to a mother during pregnancy has no effect to the fetus because there are no scientific data to prove anything. I argued that what moms do while pregnant has tremendous affect on the baby. He pointed out that there's no scientific evidence of it NOT having any effect either. So we just had to leave it at that. This was 10 years ago.

Nowadays recent studies show that excessive stress causes increased rate of heart disease in new borns later in life. We also have evidence of mother's dietary habits effecting the new born's diet. We already know that smoking or drinking while pregnant causes major damage to fetus growth. So now we know that what moms experience during pregnancies have long lasting effects to the baby, but just 10 years ago the western medical community deemed the idea unscientific and treated it as just another old wives tale.

Now that I think about it, Mr. Jones, the biology teacher was somewhat of a provocateur and was egging me on to do research on it I believe. And it worked, I suppose. Although I'm not in the medical field, the very subject we have discussed that day has kept me interested in finding out the answer ever since.

In any rate medical communities can be wrong, and I'm speaking to both parties here right now. One side says it has no link between autism and vaccinations, other side says there is a correlation. Who knows. There's no hard evidence to make the case since most evidence for or against it are still in early stages of research.

So give it time and collect more data.

Alex Jones Analyzes Zeitgeist; Discusses with Peter Joseph

ElJardinero says...

"this film says alot of good true things, but then connects those to false solutions, or solutions that can be twisted"

Well Mr. Jones, the same can be said of you!

Also.. secret machines doing operations and medical work, and it's being kept from 'us' ? Seriously? WW2 was staged? WW1 also?

Well, life isn't easy. You can find authorities who claim either position, which is that probability wave I was talking about. Personally, I will use "the glass's handle," but I am aware there are some idiomatic expressions in which adding an apostrophe to the end of an s-word just looks right all by itself. I wish I could remember them now. Oh, I know: Mr. Jones' cat.

Oh, and you are funny, my dear blankfist.

Mayday Immigration Reform Demonstration

BlueGeorgeWashington says...

The Constitution and Bill Of Rights relates to the legal citizens of America. Illegal immigrants are not citizens. I'm amazed that some American citizens do not know the basics of who has what rights. This is not a 60's style civil rights movement---which was necessary and good---that was for citizens only. We are faced with an incidious invasion of illegal immigrants who for the most part do not respect our customs, language, values and government. It will be too late for us American Citizens when we wake up one morning and we see that the national language is Spanish and the largest voting block are Mexicans who received their "rights" in the most incidious manipulative ways possible. The illegal immigrants now have a sub-culture within our country and they do not try to even learn English--instead we are PUSHED into learning Spanish in our schools. What are all the Afro-Americans and other ethnic groups who are respectable citizens going to do when a Mexican style government runs this country into the ground. I'm out of this country if that happens. We need to stand up for our country before it's too late. The writings on the wall (graffiti). These illegals who boldly and defiantly wave their Mexican flags against Americans are more of a threat to America then the corporations who are ruining things in their own way.

And why do you defend and fight for the human rights of terrorists at GITMO who murder innocent people of all faiths and ethnic groups around the world? What is wrong with you? You need to re-learn what is right and wrong--GET BACK to the basics. There IS something happening here and you don't know what it is, do you, mr. Jones?
