Circuit of the Americas SRF Race
It's comical how slow these cars are compared to the F1 guys, who finish a lap a full 60 secs ahead of these guys. That's an eternity in racing.
Sabine Schmitz Porsche vs Ron Simons Ferrari Nordschleife
I hope that someday we'll see unleashed lap from Sabine. Again they had the cameracar in front of them for half the lap.
Clueless Gamer: "Grand Theft Auto V"
He promotes this shameless sequel but shits all over Minecraft
Granted there are no lap dances or missile firing helicopters in the craft. It's tough to ignore instant gratification, I suppose.
Flat Out In a Le Mans Winning Porsche 962 - /CHRIS HARRIS
I found this video after watching the Porsche 918 do a 6:57 at the Nordschleife, and I got to wondering about the car which holds the all time lap record... the Porsche 956. This video includes an interview with their designer, where they talk about the design of the cars and what made them so special.

Sabine Schmitz Porsche vs Ron Simons Ferrari Nordschleife
Perhaps I should've put this in the description... but Sabine Schmitz is (was?) a professional racing driver who has won the 24 hours Nürburgring endurance race twice (1996, 1997) and has completed more than 20,000 laps of the Norschleife (increasing at 1200 per year) in her occupation as "the fastest taxi driver in the world" (providing hot laps around the Norschleife). She also has a career as a tv presenter.
Ron Simons was also a racer in the 90s - http://www.gtspirit.com/2011/05/18/interview-ron-simons-rsr-nurburg-the-nurburgring/
She's beyond good and she kicked his ass! Great video.
Porsche 918 Spyder 6:57 at Nürburgring
Wow. He made that look so easy. Most 'Ring laps are frantic affairs.
Lewis Hamilton driving Ayrton Senna's MP4/4 on Top Gear
I love Hamiltons enthusiasm for this. You can tell he's a genuine fan.
I wish they'd made him do a lap time comparison against Senna. Would have been really interesting to see the difference.
How to Coil Cables
I thought I presented my argument rather well. It was certainly not meant as an ad hominem attack. I'm far too mature for such silliness. When a perfect example of which I'm referring to plops itself conveniently into the conversation, why would I not use it to validate my argument? I also think you're missing the point of it all. What bugs the fuck out of me is the laziness, it's the time spent behind the computer on social networks, video sites and game sites, thinking that life can best be experienced by reading rather than doing. It is stunting social growth, and giving individuals an exaggerated sense of self importance. "Getting your hands dirty" teaches humility and how to figure things out independently. I'm tired of seeing so many young people sitting around at home playing on the internet all day while collecting money from the government, just waiting for a job that's worthy enough to fall into their laps because they think they're too good for manual labor or that job at McDonald's.
I'm lacking in respect, huh? Fuck you, pal. I disagreed with you, and I did so pretty vehemently because I feel very strongly that you are wrong. Do you somehow think that you are entitled to judge everybody else by your impossible standards while staying safe from reproach and disagreement up in your ivory tower? And I'm the one with the ego, sure.
Now, look. I have two friends who are way into blacksmithing (and I'm actually going to try this out a bit when it becomes feasible for me to have a forge and anvil (I don't think my current neighbours would like it if I suddenly started pounding metal in my back yard)) and many others who have spent years working in construction. One of them even broke his back doing it. They have their primary skills and I've got mine, and while there is a slight overlap (since we all love to learn new things and tend to do so from each other), we all have to recognize that we are different people who are good at different things.
Because the really fucking simple truth is that life isn't perfect, and neither are human beings. We also have a finite amount of time and a finite amount of energy, and unless you are some sort of crazy person who doesn't have any limits and will work yourself until you keel over, you're going to have a few things you do well and a few things you do less well. Deal with it. What is happening here is that you've got some jacked up übermensch fantasy you can't possibly live up to, so you judge others instead of just taking your expectations down to a more realistic level.
Oh, and by the way - I love how your response was essentially just one big throbbing ad hominem. Don't have anything meaningful to say? Don't worry; you can always call the other guy an arrogant jerk! That'll show him! Nice job there, buddy. You really got me good.
Greatest MotoGP Finish of all time
Just for clarity, I know it's not a dupe from two things. For one, here is the original description from antonye (don't put it past him to edit it after this)
"The MotoGP Championship is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing; the motorcycle equivalent of F1 cars. Eight-times World Champion Valentino Rossi (#46) is defending his title against his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo (#99) in these last two laps of the Catalunya Grands Prix from 14th June 2009.
And yes, they're doing over 200mph (>325kph) when we first join them!
(commentary in Dutch, but you get the idea...)"
DO YOU HEAR ANY DUTCH IN THIS VIDEO?
Secondly, he posted his video 3 years before the one I posted was made.
Dick.
A hell of a ride at the Nordschleife.
It's strangely reminiscent of Riccardo Patrese's lap with his wife.

The gesture that represents the Irish abortion debate
It displays the patriarchal attitude of those in power. "Oh, you want right? How about you shut up and sit on my lap instead?"

Grand Theft Auto V - First Gameplay Trailer
So wait. They make the game on PC, squeeze it on console hardware...and then don't announce a PC release? I thought the idea of developing just for consoles meant you could fine tune the engine for specific hardware, but you say that they make a PC "version" and then scale it backwards. Sounds nutty.
I'd wager a lot of this stuff IS running on the ingame engine, in real time, but that its heavily scripted with very little actually interactivity.
Anyway. The heist focus sounds cool. Also, for me GTA is a driving game at heart. I used to do laps of Vice City in the Sabre Turbo trying to beat my best time. Shooting at people was a minigame inbetween driving. If they can flesh out the minigame thats cool, just not at the expense of driving.
At this point it's pretty likely it's a development build running on PC, too early to tell if it's really been optimised well for current gen consoles.
Anyway, I'm glad they're focussing explicitly on mechanics. I've always found GTA games to be full of superflous 'gameplay' I wouldn't ever spend time on. Perhaps I'm part of the cynical bunch that doesn't buy the immersion angle.
If more mini-games this time around are actual fun diversions then great. If the gun mechanics are tightened up, maybe it'll play as a better 3rd person shooter in it's own right.
Otherwise, I worry they're just bloating out the feature pool like they've done in each successive sequel.
Bill Burr Teaches Elijah Wood How To Kill
Hey bremnet-Been watching this one closely as well-(never been to guns.com before, first hit on google search for "Canada gun confiscation")
http://www.guns.com/2013/06/29/royal-canadian-mounted-police-confiscate-guns-from-town-residents-during-flood-video/
Apparently residents of High River in Alberta will return to their homes after having to evacuate due to floods and find all their firearms (registered and legal) have been confiscated by the RCMP-
Don't know if this is the video I watched below, but the red-jack-boots are certainly clueless as to how to carry-on a reasonable conversation on the matter with very reasonable and practical residents-Cops are cops are cops wherever you are, dutiful lap-soldiers of bullshit-gone-wild government.
I Am Bradley Manning
I take it you are not familiar with the Oath of Office for the US government?
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
So when the government breaks it's oath, breaks faith to the people and demands of it's soldiers, those men and women who are ready to pay the ultimate price, that they commit atrocious crimes, what worth is there honouring your oath to them?
More importantly, Nuremberg proved that "just following orders" ie. adhering to your oath as a soldier, was not a defense. In the recent debacle in the Australian Defense Force, the chief of armies has explicitly said that people who received the illicit emails and deleted them rather than reporting would also be held responsible because they didn't blow the whistle...
You can waffle on about honour and adhering to ones oath, but the truth is you're advocating the path of the coward. Stay quiet, don't speak out, be a good little lap dog to the establishment. Allow evil to happen because you don't have the cojones to do anything about it. Take cold comfort in the fact that you "honoured" your oath.
Manning is no hero.
No matter what you think of the government its just your opinion.
Make all the excuses you want.
He took an oath. He betrayed the oath.
If he did not like what the government was going doing. This was not the way to show it. He gave information to a a group of people that used it to lie and put people at risk for nothing.
I Am NOT Bradley Manning
Two faced kitten Born in Oregon
Nah man, a barn-cat isn't necessarily inbred. A barn cat is a simply a cat on the property whose main job ain't sittin' on laps and wandering around the house rather, it stays outside and keeps the rodent population in check.
