That's not true. The "Ok" symbol, number codes, etc have been used for years because they could be used in public without exposing themselves as racists except to other racists who know the code.
I agree, once these symbols and codes are recognized, trolls latch onto them as easy triggers to pull.
I can discern intent....to be publicly racist. The meaning is not hidden.
Trolls being publicly racist not for racism's sake but for outrage's sake are still being racists in their effort, as are those who actually believe in/support the racism. Well, what pisses off me about racism in the States is that we enslaved people for 200+ years, made them live in shacks and treated them like cattle. We pretty much stripped them of dignity and all that is human to the point where many of them believed it, then we said: "Hey, you are free now, so act like us!" What in the funking funk is that kind of logic? Do we expect them to say, "Thanks for the freedom, now I'll just erase the indoctrination and all the memory and I'll magically be jolly jumping ideal citizen like the best examples of your race." What adequate tools did we give them to re-engage in society?

We often expect a tabula rasa from African Americans when in fact we ruined them and should heavily reinvest in them for at least a few decades, if not centuries. Racism based on half-assed logic boils my blood more than pure racism.

I know this is probably the most insipid possible point to raise over an interesting video, but why is everyone always telling us George Orwell's real name? Other authors don't seem to get the same treatment. In the world of pop music it's Elton John (whose original name was actually Walter Sloppycock or whatever it was), in literature it's George Orwell. Or they'll casually mention some fact about a certain Eric Blair and then pause to not so subtly observe your reaction.

It doesn't seem to me to be a very important thing to know. Like the occasional debate over who actually wrote Shakespeare's plays - probably this bloke called William Shakespeare, but maybe not, who knows - someone did it, and a jolly good job they did of it, and that person we call Shakespeare. The body of work is what counts, and good lord but Orwell had a hell of a body of work. Sometimes the bodies of actual fascists.

It was definitely a punch and kick to the ribs of an inebriated woman who was restrained in handcuffs. She did attempt to kick him, but the return force used was wildly inappropriate. This officer also beat up an older man half his size on a traffic stop, causing multiple lacerations to his scalp. If you watch the related cnn video, you can see he is basically a juiced up thug who gets his jollies on beating people and taking buddy photos with them.

It's just becoming apparent, to me at least, that for every good officer we have it seems like we have 9 bad ones. A horrible ratio, to be sure.
