Top 10 Worst Movie Casting Choices

Much peaness

Alton Brown on Salt

Croccydile says...

This reminds me of the Iron Chef (japanese) episode where the challenger was a "master of salt" or something where he had like a half dozen types of salt. One of them was only collected during the full moon (?!) on some island off the coast of Japan... ummm yeah.

He still lost.

Normally Alton Brown is a pretty cool guy but damn, it's salt man.

Simply THE most realistic CGI I've EVER seen!

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Totally agree. The episodes with live octopus and sea cucumbers were intense.

Meh, the original Japanese version of the show was so much more entertaining. It also had a lot more live secret ingredients where you see the chefs struggled to kill sometimes.

Sift Up Vancouver 08 - Success! (Food Talk Post)

It was amazing. I've never had a meal like that in my life, thank you so much djsunkid. Lucky will be able to post some people pics when he gets off his flight I imagine. It was great to get to meet everyone, especially with all the great food to share. The food kept coming and each dish was a different taste sensation. I felt like I was on Iron Chef

Alton Brown on The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch

Then you are missing out. He does a show called Good Eats on the Food Network, which is the perfect blend of cooking, culinary science, and anthropology lessons all in one entertaining half hour. It's cooking for geeks and it's brilliant.

He also moderates the American version of Iron Chef, which he does a good job at but in my opinion pales in comparison to the original Japanese version. And he also has another show called Feasting on Asphalt, where he takes a road trip and stops along culinary hot spots along the trail, but off the beaten bypass.

A "sports" channel? (Sift Talk Post)

Oatmeal says...

I just don't get how we can have *vintage, *animation and something so broad as an *art channel yet still be lacking a *sports channel. I agree that too may channels could get confusing, for example, an Iron Chef clip, where the food looks artsy and there is a funny announcer, and it is for some reason outside, and prepared for the Presidents luncheon or something could have *sports *cooking (assuming there would be a cooking channel) *nature *politics *comedy *art, but that would be very unlikely. A sports channel would definatly be good though, considering almost all the sports clips posted don't fit into any other channels.

BTW, if a *sports channel is out of the question, I hope to be getting a gold star within the month and if nobody else wants to, I would love to host a sports collective.

McDonald's now advertises on the Iron Chef!?!

joedirt says...

Yeah, some McD apologist on here tried to say, uh maybe they accidentally hit the commercial queue button early and it was a glitch.

No, sorry, you don't just get random accidental graphics on network TV broadcasts. Period. Or else there would be a lot more 'accidental' pornographic images, or maybe the occasional 'Vote for Ike', maybe a 'Get the F- out of Iraq'...

This is total crap. Food Network got caught and busted. I still have a theory that this was a Tivo ad-insertion. And it went wrong. Everyone on the internets who mentions this Iron Chef thing is showing it from their Tivo..

I love the assertion that it is "only a red flash" therefore it is ok. They miss the whole point of subliminal.
