Did I ever tell you guys about the time I went into a hostess bar on accident when just looking for a bar? Hilarity ensues.

The hostess is very good about introducing neighbors to other neighbors. If another artist is there, she'll make sure I meet her/him.

The dessert table and snack table were filled with items brought by neighbors. The hosts provided everything else.

After the nuclear holocaust, when I'm scouring the scorched countryside for a Hostess factory, I want this guy to be my personal musical narrator.

I did a very short stint as a hostess in Japan. I think women hosts are at much greater risk of abuse, than their male counterparts. An Irish hostess was murdered in the area of Osaka where I worked.

Risks aside, it can be soul-destroying work unless you have a buoyant kind of self esteem that survives being treated like a product at best, or verbally and physically abused at worst.

we learned this song in the 3rd grade and went on a field trip to a traditional Japanese restaurant....when we sang for the hostesses at the restaurant' several cried, and they bowed more than anyone us kids had seen.....thanks 3rd grade choir teacher.....
