Cops Don't Like to Be Honked At in Colorado

nanrod says...

I found it hard to believe that simple honking is considered road rage in Colorado, so I found a lawyers web site that quoted that road rage is "assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger(s) of another motor vehicle or an assault precipitated by an incident that occurred on a roadway”. They went on to list some actions that are considered aggressive driving. One was excessive use of your horn, another was "Exiting the car to attempt to start a confrontation."
So not only is the cop a colossal prick, he doesn't know the law in his own jurisdiction. Either that or he was willing to blatantly lie on camera.

Cop Maces Bikers As They Ride By On The Freeway

Shameful. Hopefully he gets suspended or fired for such a gross display of poor judgement.
But it's hard to feel too bad for these d-bags when they take over the roads, impede traffic, drive recklessly/illegally, and go all mob rule when someone honks at them . The least they could do in this scenario is move over when passing a car and/or officer pulled over to the side of the road (if it's not the law as it is here).

Fault is a tricky one there, on a normal road the car would be at fault and on a road with a bike lane the bike would be. In the video the honking happens just as the cycle lane ends so it's a bit of a grey area.

That said, he should have checked behind him and shouldn't have taken offence at the horn.

#1 that is NOT a safe distance... bringing me back to my point, you probably don't realize how bad of a driver you are. That is NOT a safe distance AND they are passing on the right... that is TWO wrongs.

#2 many states don't have a cell phone law for driving. Including mine. Although that did not stop me from honking the ever living shit out of a driver I saw who had a black berry mounted on his windshield and was trying to type on it while driving.

I'll just counter with; when the sedan started changing lanes, it was "safe".

What about his being on the phone? It's proven to be as distracting as being legally drunk.

Car Accident First Person Perspective

Payback says...

Bad judgement on him though. Rather honk the horn than avoid a collision. Goes to attitude. You avoid the accident THEN blare the horn.

I dunno, maybe he thought it was the force-field button...

Completely shit sightlines on the approach. Wall covered the entire area to the right. You NEVER assume other drivers have any idea how to drive or what they're doing.

Drive like everyone else is texting, and you'll get in fewer accidents.

Textbook Emergency Landing

lucky760 says...

I often find myself thinking that airplanes should have some kind of foghorn to alert road traffic if they're coming down for an emergency landing because there's no way for cars to know the plane is coming down until it's passed you. It's easy if there's a big gap in traffic as seen above, but on my freeways, which are near an airport, that's very rare. (I actually think about this every single day every time a small plane is flying nearby. I keep thinking "Today will be the day a the plane comes down for a landing.")

If that were the US, the cars behind the plane would be honking, flashing their high beams, and swerving around them while giving the finger.

Islam Vs Racism

Mammaltron says...

The EDL (represented here by the driver) certainly seem to be pretty horrible shits.

However my own liberal live-and-let-live inclinations definitely face a problem when confronted with radical Islam and other toxic memes.

How does such a liberal philosophy deal with an opposing philosophy which will fundamentally not live-and-let-live?

It's the pacifist versus the warrior, and moral victories are a bit useless when they are posthumous.

Of course none of this is helped by the moneyfuckers led by the United States and Great Britain, who are more than happy with this fire while they are selling fuel and firefighting equipment.

They also honk their horn twice in quick succession as a way of saying thank you. I didn't know that when I first started driving here, so the first time it happened to me after I let a guy in I actually turned to my wife and said, "WTF is his problem, I let him in!"
