Nikolas Plytas 2021 H2O
Upvote for the pickup truck!
Back country skiing in Colorado when I was growing up, down the hill, through the woods to a road, hitchhike back near the top, hike the last couple hundred meters, rinse, repeat.
Nine times out of 10 it was a pickup truck with snow in the back that was picking you up.
This was right before snowboarding was really a thing.

Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.
-- Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
Space; It seems to go on and on forever...but then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.
-- Fry, Futurama
Basically there's lots of space.
All those players, all that time, and yet they've only explored .005% of the galaxy.
Disturbing Star Trek: The Motion Picture Transporter Malfunc
One is reminded of the sperm whale from Hitchhikers Guide.
I suggest you not read about the concept of a boltzmann brain then..it might add to your sense of unease
Rick's Rant - Trump and Twitter
"The President is very much a figurehead - he wields no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it. "
-Douglas Adams, The HItchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
the urantia book-an introduction
@vil
i was going to reference hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, because the parallels are there, except without the humor.
i have read many a sacred text, and even though the book of urantia is written in a similar format,it read more like a government procedural book than anything.i simply could not get far into the book at all.
still,as a text that lays out the workings of the universe,i felt i should add this book to the pile.
no fantastical stories of resurrection,or miracles,or interventions by a supreme being.just a break down of your basic universe's bureaucracy.

I would definitely recommend The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Discworld (Small Gods in this case) as sources of religious awe and insight over this kind of crazy humourless awkwardness.
Form usually is a good indication of content, and this video is obviously trying to sell a stupid book.
How to Colonize the Galaxy
Or hitchhike aboard a star ship with an infinite improbability drive.

Where are the aliens? KurzGesagt
The style of this video really reminded me of an article from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
THE AMIGA YEARS!
My Amiga 2000 is stashed away in a closet somewhere. Also had a 500 at one time but eventually sold that.
Shadow of the Beast was a classic and many other impressive games from Psygnosis...graphics and the music.
Lemmings, Out of this World, Monkey Island, Dune II, Stunt Car Racer...even liked the text based Infocom games like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and The Lurking Horror.

Oh man. you're putting me on the spot with that question. I traded 1/2 ownership of a 128mac for my brother's old apple 2 and a shoe box of floppy's. I didn't go through 1/2 of them before I got kicked out of the house and he took it all back. I remember a few text games...hitchhikers guide among them. I think also defender, Montezuma's revenge sounds familiar, Wolfenstien, Beyond Wolfenstien, Cannonball Blitz, Centipede, choplifter, crystal castles, frogger, galaxian, joust, kung fu master, leisure suit larry in the land of the lounge lizards, lode runner, missile defense, moon patrol, qix, tapper, ultima (maybe ultima 2), and zork. That's all I recognize from the list.
What other Apple 2 games did you played? Here's what I played that I could re(member/call): Wings of Fury, Diamond Mine, Kareteka, Montezuma's Revenge, Aztec, Gemstone Warrior, Conan O'Brien (think I submitted it here), Ancient Art of War (a pastor gave me that game haha), Boulder Dash, Champion Ship Lode Runner (finished and got a paper certificate), etc.
Awkward Selfie Culture
I find it unlikely any star would use Uber. Might as well just go hitchhiking.
Let's settle this like gentlemen
One of the best British sketch shows.
Also, keen eared viewers will recognise the gentlemen in the middle as the voice of Ford Prefect in the Hitchhiker's Guide radio series
