Orlando Police Believe They’re Above The Law
I really would agree….but only if that goes for everyone. No need to ever do a high speed chase or felony stop if you have the license and a photo of the driver….but that’s not how they operate.
Guaranteed if that wasn’t a cop, gun would be drawn, hands would go on, cuffs would go on, and in most cases feet would go into belly too for disrespecting their authority and trying to run. In no world would they be as calm and non confrontational with the public. I got all but the foot in the belly because a cop read my license plate wrong once, couldn’t tell a “5” from an “S”, then threatened me with unspecified retaliation if I complained…he said remember he had my address now if I cause him any trouble over this.
My point is the “good cop” gave the bad criminal cop treatment he never would give a citizen…if he did he would lose his job. It’s the preferential treatment I’m upset about. Criminal cops should be treated like the worst, most violent and vile criminal, because they are. Instead, they’re treated with kid gloves, given every benefit of a doubt and then some, and are given free vacation time on those few occasions they have anything at all happen for violating the law and the public trust. It’s an incredibly rare thing when the entire department doesn’t stand behind, and in front of shielding blatantly abusive criminal cops and attacking/harassing any accusers, which is chilling for any that might want to be “good cops”.
Why wouldn’t it be the right thing to do to let a violent aggressive and reckless speeder (in this case he was guilty of reckless evading, a felony) who is armed just scream at the cop and drive away? Because that’s shirking their duty to enforce the law. Have you ever heard of them doing any such thing (when it wasn’t one of their own)?
I think he handled it right. He had all evidence on camera that he needed to avoid a situation getting out of hand. No reason to start creating a more dangerous situation
FedEx Truck gets stolen while package is being delivered
pretty sure FedEx/UPS/Amazon trucks have remote GPS monitoring, so not much need for a high-speed chase.
They say you can't outrun the cops...
This is the longer 1 hour chase. If nothing more it has the comments from the news team as the chase plays out.

Mohmed Ahmed Abu-Shlieba, driver in 'Hellcat' muscle car, sentenced after memorable chase.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The driver who memorably led authorities in a high-speed chase behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge Challenger Hellcat muscle car has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Mohmed Ahmed Abu-Shlieba, 25, pleaded guilty to evading arrest stemming from the October 2017 chase, which started in Houston and wound up in a cow pasture two counties away in Jefferson County.

Police Spike Strip Causes Accident
Police stopped traffic, lining the road with potential victims, then directed a high speed chase into a device designed to make a speeding vehicle lose control. Traffic should have been stopped well away from the spike strip, not used like inanimate barriers to direct a chase.
Imo, this was 100% foreseeable and the only likely outcome of their plan.
That police force is likely going to pay those victims millions. They put those people in harm's way and they were harmed.

Criminal involved in high speed chase causes accident?
Stop Resisting
I've said this a few times but it never fails to amaze me.
As i understand it, this incident was preceded by a high speed chase which endangers everyone, the officers, the suspect and everyone on the streets. Adrenaline is high and i even understand maybe wanting to whack the guy.
But for the love, you have to KNOW their are helicopters and people recording you. Its absolutely inescapable.
So that leaves monumental stupidity and somehow not realizing this fact, or they simply have zero fear of reprisal or consequence.
I'm not really sure there is a third option.
Here We Go Again...Rodney King Style Beating In SF
If you are a cop in an extended high speed chase after a guy in a stolen car and then you catch him, I can see where the adrenaline will push you over the edge. It doesn't excuse the behavior, but I have trouble falling asleep after 30 minutes of playing Battlefront I'm so amp'd up. I can't imagine being in their shoes.
Also, this isn't Rodney King. Rodney King was dragged out of his car and beaten for being black. This man ran from the cops in a stolen vehicle and almost killed 2 of them. Whether the color of his skin came into play we can only speculate and review the record of the officers involved. My suspicion however is that if he had been white he would have gotten about 1/2 the beating he took.
Either way, the officers involved were wrong. They are not judge and jury. Seems like some cops in this country have forgotten that. But there are still a lot of good ones.
The police officers could be heard yelling stop resisting ;)
Way to dig up a video from 2009.
The 5 police officers involved were all terminated.
This ended a 50 mile high speed chase. Notice when he tried to run over the police officer laying down the spike strip?
There are legitimate and current examples of police abuse of real victims...
Traffic Stop Nearly Turns Deadly
Sorry, drug paraphernalia. Which is the same exact results--lose kids etc. So yes, I stand by my statement because they did find it http://abcnews.go.com/US/minivan-stop-ends-shoots-fired-high-speed-chase/story?id=20912206
If there were drugs in the car, wouldn't the police have found them once they caught up?

Man pulls over cop for speeding
>> ^conan:
i just love it. "so fast" "damn 90 miles". Even my granddad goes faster on his weekly commute to his poker round. seriously, it's a country spanning thousands of miles, just raise your stupid speed limits. "High speed chase?" 90miles wouldn't even be considered serious speeding over here on roads like the ones in the clip. just a fine of good below 100€.
my thoughts entirely. 90mph. pfffff.
