Dangerous Lion Cub Got his Medicine

Student Accepted to Every Ivy League School, Rejects them

viewer_999 says...

"...May have saved his parents up to $200k..."

Growl. Why his parents? None of my friends' parents paid their way. What of scholarships? I was paid to go to school, as my scholarships surpassed tuition by 100%. Yes, tuition was much lower than the crooks are charging today (ultimately trickling down to teacher salaries), but it should all scale (or one should hope). This kid should get even more offers than I did, since he's got incredible test scores, and he is likely eligible for minority scholarships, racist by nature as they are.

He did the right thing, though, for sure. I got accepted to ivy league for grad as well but went state. Ivy league promised "7 years of 7 days a week" and needing to teach to cover my expenses. Screw that. State paid me $15k/year to go. Furthermore, once your foot is in the career door, no boss worth working for gives a damn about your degree.

Dog attacks car trying to get to cat

My_design says...

Exactly! Has neither of these people ever been around dogs before? He's messing up her car, but he doesn't seem aggressive or to be growling. Seems like he's playing, he just plays by tearing apart a car .

WTF? Why does no one yell at the dog to stop and go home?

Mountain Lions Sound -- Way Cuter Than You’d Expect

artician says...

It probably was. If they make any noise around humans at all, it's the warning growl that you'd expect. Unless you're intruding on their territory or threatening their young, they will slink off soundlessly if you come near.

and now all the hikes I've done have just become nightmares because I've heard that noise near me and thought it was a damn bird....

Don't Tell Mummy!

enoch says...

my dad used to own a 1965 GTO.
that car was a BEAST,and he would do the very same thing when i was around this little girls age.

oh the joy of being pinned to the seat to the deafening growl of the engine, and watching the trees whip by at,what seemed to my little eyes, warp speed.

seatbelts?
what seatbelts?
didn't come standard with a GTO,and who needed em?
(maybe they did and they were just jammed so thoroughly into the cracks of the seats that we didn't even know they were there).

and then my mother made my dad trade the GTO in for VW bug,and so began my fathers slow decline into a suburbia fueled nightmare of mediocrity.

(i kid.he was still pretty fucking awesome).

Guilty Dog

Asmo says...

Without need for physical punishment, my dog knows she's in trouble when I point at something and growl "WHAT IS THIS?!?!".

Similarly, she cowers when I say "Time for a bath".

She knows what she doesn't like, and she knows when we're not happy, and the typical pack submission routine of cowering or flopping down, refusing to make eye contact, is somewhat similar to shame in humans.

Videos of animals cowering always make me uncomfortable. I always assume they cower because they have been physically punished. I have no idea if this is true but makes me think of what a child does when they are physically disciplined/abused.

That Time You Were Completely Unaware A Bear Was Chasing You

This dog got the shock of her life during surprise reunion!

newtboy says...

I expected some growling before she caught dad's scent...but there was no way she wouldn't recognize his smell, even under the blanket, so I don't think there was really all that much danger of his getting bitten in the bum. I think recognition happened at exactly 1:25 from watching her rear mounted happiness indicator.

Jaguar E-Type destroys AC Cobras at Goodwood Revival

Zawash says...

It's a win-win for everyone to watch such great cars race. The AC Cobras are cooler than just about everything, though. *sports
Too bad the wimpy mic doesn't pick up the growling bass tones of the engine.
