400ft Tall Halloween Light and Drone Show

newtboy says...

Ahhhh…so this is really a *commercial

I think you’re right, that’s (usually) the idea, bringing joy to the neighborhood.
The issue is the assumption that a million watts of flashing lights and thousands of visitors deadlocking the neighborhood for a month each year brings joy, not rage. I think that is a mistaken assumption.

I recall one of the earlier houses like this that went viral early had years of legal battles with the neighbors because they clearly didn’t care that the neighbors hated it and were annoyed to the extreme, and just kept making it bigger despite numerous complaints.

I’m all for this in areas where everyone subjected to it (and the huge crowds it brings) first signs off giving permission….permission they can revoke…with laws/rules requiring it be taken down at the first neighborhood complaint.

eric3579 said:

It's their business which makes the video imo kinda meh. I like to think, those that create things like this, do it for the joy it brings to the neighborhood. Makes me think it's more of an ad, but I'm guessing its also their passion. https://magicallightshows.com/

Viral transmission not tested in Pfizer trials

newtboy says...

“Did we know about STOPPING immunization before the roll out?”
That’s a different question form “Did they test for immunization?” As he extrapolates.

Anything that safely lowers infection rates MUST by definition lower infection/transmission rates. The vaccines were all proven to lower infection rates and severity before they were released to the public.

WTF is this about Covid Passports? Does he not remember it took months and months after vaccinations started to implement covid passports, by which time we had data on transmission, and the vaccines DID lower transmission significantly. We also had early immunity data by then that indicated vaccinations did impart some immunity (we didn’t know for how long for a while). Just such stupid rewriting history, Bobby….as usual. I know you can’t remember facts at all, now I know why, you watch these videos that intentionally scramble facts and dates to create some conspiracy you can get outraged about, because if you aren’t outraged at your enemies, you lost. 🤦‍♂️

So sad, @bobknight33, you’re still fighting vaccination …at least it’s not because Bill Gates put microscopic computer chips in it to control your brain, like you used to believe. Watch Eric’s video above if you care to understand why your video was nonsense.

Now, Ashley Babbitt, got what she deserved, should have complied with police instead of fucking with them, in fact every violent Trumpist insurrectionist should have been shot dead, correct? Or does that only go for non whites?
They should still be shot dead for treason, right?
If you can produce no answer, that’s a shame filled “YES”.

Dr Nick For Senate

newtboy says...

Don’t ignore the report today that Oz performed torturous experiments on puppies in the early 2000s resulting in the painful protracted deaths of at least 329 puppies. He and the college he was working at were cited and fined for multiple violations of the animal welfare act for brutally torturing puppies to death while ignoring, even exacerbating their suffering instead of minimizing it. They were cited for euthanasia without sedation, running multiple tests on one animal, using paralytics without sedation, and dozens of other gross violations of animal welfare laws. In one test a large group of puppies was killed by having massive doses of expired drugs injected directly into their hearts with no sedation…then the dead puppies were tossed into a garbage bag WITH THEIR STILL LIVING LITTERMATES for disposal.

To be clear, Dr MENGELE OZ IS A REPEATED PUPPY ABUSER, CITED AND FINED FOR OVER 325 ABUSIVE PAINFULL PUPPY KILLINGS.

You knew it was coming….not that them being “nuclear secrets” is a prerequisite for having the top secret classified documents, keeping them unsecured, or lying about it repeatedly to be crimes…they don’t even need to be classified documents , but when they are it’s a slam dunk that mishandling them makes us less safe, and is a crime….when they are the absolute highest level of classification, to be kept under lock and key at secure facilities with secure viewing facilities and under armed guard 24/7…not in a box in the hallway open to the public with framed Time magazines and newspaper clippings….it’s game over, do not pass go, do not collect $200, and it won’t matter how many Trump appointed unqualified judges destroy their careers trying to shield him. One already has.

Edit : just an aside, discovery in the Dominion case with Fox became interesting today when internal emails from Piro’s producer to the executives were leaked, proving that they KNEW she was just pulling conspiracy theories off the internet to bolster Trump’s false election fraud claims that they knew in early November were false, and that she needed to be removed from the air because she’s using Fox to spread slanderous and libelous lies, opening them up to serious repercussions (like a $1.6 billion judgement). 😂

Trump’s Maralago Home Raided By FBI

newtboy says...

Backfired, eh? How’s that working out now? How many early races Republicans thought were locks have already been lost? How many Trumpian candidates are behind in polls by double digits?

What backfired by poking a hornets nest was the political activist judges reversing 50 years of precedent and settled law based on pure politics…erasing civil rights and threatening to go insanely farther (like making interracial marriage illegal, erasing voting rights, etc) that is driving people to the polls in unprecedented numbers already, and they aren’t voting red.

What also backfired was years of harping on about a few mislabeled low level classified but not secret documents ending up on a server is treason then trying to say over 700 pages of highest level top secret clearly labeled classified paper documents (with no way to trace who has seen it) kept unsecured unlocked unguarded in closets and basements of a home often open to the “public” and repeatedly penetrated by foreign spies after two subpoenas requesting them and multiple false affidavits claiming they didn’t exist is nothing. That’s too much even for some cultists, and WAY too much for non cultists. Sure didn’t drive right wing New Yorkers to the polls. 😂 😂 😂

Going to be even better if someone sues to remove all Republicans from the ballot in Texas since they’re all legally communists now and ineligible for public office in Texas. ROTFLMFAHS!!!

Oh, and I'm a Christian. Just the left-leaning, corporatized mega-church hating, cult-busting, prosperity-gospel rejecting, only care for Jesus'-deed-as-example kind of follower. Not the wield-Jesus-as-an-oppression-stick, "I'm an Evangelical, I have ALL the Rights!"-kind of proud & loud, shameless hypocrite (at least try as damn hard not to, I do have weaknesses) that we unfortunately see waaaaay too much in American power circles.

I'm a Canadian, and I'm super glad here in the Great White North (not so much anymore...), separation of church & state is strong. I think I'm probably not a "Christian" by most American's standard...

My rule of thumb for politicians is dead simple. Those that bring out their Christianity all the time NEVER gets my vote. It simply means they have no deeds, policies, visions to speak of and most likely is using God as a shield to hide their misdeeds and inactions.

A look back: Donny D.A., COVID & the crab of reason

newtboy says...

Absolutely…the little word flubs are funny, especially seeing how much the right makes of Biden’s diagnosed stutter that he’s all but overcome, but it’s the batshit crazy ideas that are the problem and clearly indicate breaks with reality severe enough for involuntary commitment.

Airplanes/airports….that’s semantics. A game I love, but inconsequential.

Thinking Washington fought with a modern mechanized army…seriously suggesting people should inject disinfectant and swallow uv lights, that’s a dangerous level of insanity or unbelievable stupidity and ignorance, as is ignoring such signs from leaders.

Stuck repeating “oranges”…that needs diagnosis…maybe sundowning? (I don’t know if that’s a medical term, but I mean when early onset dementia patients are almost normal until evening when they break down into full dementia.)

I think I’m going to need to watch that movie again, it’s been decades.

odd as he is/was there were six separate occasions where i had to check various sources to conceive myself that the reports were genuine.

the one about the oranges...the cabinet meeting where they took turns praising him...sharpie-gate...NRA/gun nuts assassinating Hillary...drinking bleach...and not knowing Pearl Habor's history.

couldn't be.

Some Big Moments From The Jan 6 Hearings So Far

newtboy says...

I do think it makes Hunter look like a baller. A dope fiend, maybe, but not as much of one as Rush or Don Jr who you LOVE so I reject your hypocrisy, and Hunter is infinitely cooler than either of them.

This is DEFINITELY the lifestyle Don Jr wishes he could live, but he’s WAY too uncool, whining, crying, doing lines, throwing fits, getting sloppy seconds if anything at all…Hunter is rolling deep, living large, having fun, surrounded by fun hot women having 3 ways, not shrieking shrews that can’t stand him or alone, coked out, rage posting.

Is Hunter presidential material….no. Does he have political ambitions….also no. Don Jr isn’t presidential one bit either, but he thinks it’s his birthright now, and guaranteed you would vote early and often for him.

Do I think Hunter is cool, likely fun to hang out with. Yes.
But he’s definitely no roll model.
On par with any Trump in that regard, but WAY cooler.

BTW- you might not want to bring up who he slept with considering Trump’s history of fucking (or trying to fuck) all of his “friends” wives, multiple porn stars, raping multiple random women and subordinates, lusting after 12 year olds in public, partying privately with Epstein and YOUNG girls, and blatantly saying publicly on more than one occasion that he also fucked his daughter. By comparison, Hunter looks good there too.

Lol. I’M narrow minded?!? ROTFLMFAHS!!!

Who told you that?! They lied.

Wiki-Five House Committees (Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, Judiciary, and Oversight and Government Reform) initiated their own inquiries soon after the attack. The Republicans on these five House Committees delivered an interim report to the Members of the House Republican Conference on April 23, 2013. The interim report, which contains the conclusions of the Republican majority staff, signed only by the five Republican chairmen of those committees and stated "This staff report has not been officially adopted by the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, or the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and therefore may not necessarily reflect the views of their Members," was critical of the Obama Administration's actions before, during, and after the attack. Among dozens of findings, the report states that:

"Senior State Department officials knew that the threat environment in Benghazi was high and that the Benghazi compound was vulnerable and unable to withstand an attack, yet the department continued to systematically withdraw security personnel"
The "[Obama] Administration willfully perpetuated a deliberately misleading and incomplete narrative that the attacks evolved from a political demonstration caused by a YouTube video."
"... after a White House Deputies Meeting on Saturday, September 15, 2012, the Administration altered the talking points to remove references to the likely participation of Islamic extremists in the attacks. The Administration also removed references to the threat of extremists linked to al-Qa'ida in Benghazi and eastern Libya ..."
"The Administration deflected responsibility by blaming the IC [intelligence community] for the information it communicated to the public in both the talking points and the subsequent narrative it perpetuated."
Democrats on the five committees criticized the report, which they said had been written without Democratic input, as a "partisan Republican" work that was "unnecessarily politicizing our national security".

Also “ Democrats on the committee certainly say this was political and politically constructed. They say there were many witnesses whose testimony wasn't released because it supported the administration and particularly supported Hillary Clinton.”

There were 8 Benghazi investigations, 7 of which were only done as political attacks on Clinton to hurt her presidential run, admitted by McCarthy and others on tape. That’s why, even though their Republican led investigations found no wrongdoing he called it a win against Clinton because the accusations hurt her politically.

You get what you call one point of view because one side, the anti democracy pro-sedition side, refuses to testify, ignores subpoenas, and hides and destroys evidence….the same “side” that boycotted the investigations and refused to authorize a non partisan outside investigation, then whined they weren’t being allowed to participate…the treason side….your side.
They have absolutely been able to present another side…under oath. Trump has an open invitation, as do all his co-conspirators that ignored subpoenas. They refuse, or are incapable.
There have been plenty of Trump officials who did give their point of view, and every one has said Trump was clearly attempting a coup, knew he lost the election early, knew his plots were absolutely illegal, and many quit on Jan 6 when it became obvious he was willing to violently attack America and his own VP intentionally to retain power by any means.
You know this, you just hope someone else is as dumb as you act and can be fooled into believing your nonsense that this is a partisan politically motivated hatchet job, not an investigation into the worst attack against America on the mainland since the Southern Insurrection (otherwise known as the civil war).

bobknight33 said:

You so narrow minded. It is truly sad.

Those other investigations had the other side to counter.

There is not 1 counter point of view - It is not allowed on this Bull Shit Jan 6 smear job.

The Jan 6 just a want to paint a false one sided narrative.

Millennials Are Still The Stupidest Generation. Brad Upton

TheFreak says...

I think what he's missing is that it wasn't the Millenial kids who asked for an overly insulated upbringing. It was their Boomer parents who put up all the guardrails and made all the rules to protect them from getting their bodies or feelings hurt.

Let's be clear, there were 2 versions of Boomers (early and late):
Boomer 1.0 raised the GenXers and they didn't give a fuck what tree we fell out of or who made fun of us in school.
Boomer 2.0 raised the Millenials and I'll never hate on Millenials because their parents were fuuuuuuuucked up protective.

NOBODY GIVES A BLEEP ABOUT JAN 6TH

luxintenebris says...

Most conservatives just don't have the chops for comedy.

This humor genre is somewhere in the late '80s - early '90s. Dated. Like watching 'Friends'.

Putting that aside (like a used tissue) would have been helpful to know when (the date) these comments were taken. Hard to respond to it. It'd be like Bob saying 'landslide' before the election, and him claiming 'landslide' afterward (granted wrong both times, but the context could be scarier in the second).

There is evidence that the hearings are being heard by members of Dumb Quixote's* herd. So at least they'll have some idea why liar, liar, pants on fire is being prosecuted.

Overall, it's being five full days of powerful testimony. If anyone else's trial was preceding like this, their attorney would be spending hours upon hours trying to get a plea deal &/or getting the defendant to plea.

If this was a murder trial, their lawyer would be saying "plead guilty! throw yourself on the mercy of the court! at this point the best we can hope for is to have your body buried in secrecy - so your grave doesn't get violated!"**

may not get the deluded to become undeluded but the bells of truth are ringing and bringing a lot to church. while the rest are whistling through the graveyard.

How to Not Fall Off A Ladder

luxintenebris jokingly says...

right on about kids & ladders. use bike locks to secure ladders to support braces to keep them from traveling.

also, discovered a phenomenon working retail. use a ladder to work merchandise, on upper selves, /lights/etc, and customers are drawn to it like "moths to the flame". end up going up & down while other workers in the area are within 10 yds. grrrrr!

learned to get fellow workers at the base to deal w/the "where're your..." moths, so could finish the high work. (that or do it after closing)

learned safety early as not a fan of heights. secure it so could focus on the climb. "...okay...doing good...one more step...no the ladder isn't shaking that's your pulse..."

"I meant in a practical and ethical sense it would have made more sense for them to take part of Germany as actual reparations."
Isn't this a red herring, irrelevant point though unless they were given part of Palestine as 'reparations'? If we're gonna fix history with wishes lets go further and erase WW2.

"When they, as a people, invade a recently sovereign land and take it by force..."
It's your characterization here that you seem to just be asserting as true, but it's the heart of where we see it differently.

Are you objecting to the Jewish refugees illegally taking refuge alongside Jewish people already in Palestine in the 30s and early 40s? Your usage of the word 'invade' seems to suggest that.

Do you think I'm misrepresenting things as well when I pointed out it was the Arab states that declared war, immediately upon Israel embracing a two state solution? And let's be clear, it was a two state solution with borders essentially mirroring the existing land occupied by both Jewish and Arab peoples currently in Palestine at the time.

You declare it was taken by force, but the history as I know it has by far the largest use of force was 100% defensive after the declaration of war by all neighboring Arab states.

What are you seeing so differently at that point of history?

Teachers Sabotage Don’t Say Gay Law By Following It

JiggaJonson says...

Teacher here. It's made-up-nonsense. I don't give a shit what gender or sexual orientation a kid is and im CERTAINLY not going to try to convince anyone to change anything about themselves.

That said, I'm going to acknowledge that gay/trans people exist in authorship and literature as it arises. You can't read someone like Whitman (Leaves of Grass, arguably America's greatest poet) and not come across references to sexuality either implicit or explicit. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/45472/i-sing-the-body-electric

It becomes relevant in passages like this:

5
This is the female form,
A divine nimbus exhales from it from head to foot,
It attracts with fierce undeniable attraction,
I am drawn by its breath as if I were no more than a helpless vapor, all falls aside but myself and it,
Books, art, religion, time, the visible and solid earth, and what was expected of heaven or fear’d of hell, are now consumed,
Mad filaments, ungovernable shoots play out of it, the response likewise ungovernable,
Hair, bosom, hips, bend of legs, negligent falling hands all diffused, mine too diffused,
Ebb stung by the flow and flow stung by the ebb, love-flesh swelling and deliciously aching,
Limitless limpid jets of love hot and enormous, quivering jelly of love, white-blow and delirious juice,
Bridegroom night of love working surely and softly into the prostrate dawn,
Undulating into the willing and yielding day,
Lost in the cleave of the clasping and sweet-flesh’d day.

----------------------------------
Maybe a conversation like:

"'Love flesh swelling' like he's in love with some woman and they...he...?"

"Probably not, he didn't have any serious female relationships as far as I am aware."

"But the title is 'The female form'"

"Well, it's possible, but it's not likely the case that he was talking about himself being in love with a woman. This poem is in the text but he wrote many other pieces about he-himself falling into and out of love with various men and we have letters documenting those relationships with his male significant others. Although, I'm not sure what to call them because gay marriage would have been illegal at the time. He's likely writing the poem in a way where he appreciates the female form and sees men who are drawn to it like the way I appreciate watching bees act obsessively driven to the middle of flowers. I like watching Bees in action, but that doesn't mean I'm going all pollen crazy, still I appreciate it for what it is."
-------------------

This is an example of how discussion of sexuality would come up in my classroom as I imagine it. Note how I'm not trying to convince the kid I'm talking to to turn gay like it's a big game of rainbow-red-rover or something. Nevertheless, knowing the author's sexual preference in this instance informs our understanding of the piece.

My own personal theory?
The people railing against things like this are the same shitheads that can't be bothered to read ANYTHING and instead giggle and guffaw at "hurhurhurhur he hadd'a boner" where I get to live an early stage of Idocracy.

Also, I agree that the "funky stuff" shouldn't be just avoided altogether. For goodness sake, just let teachers have the difficult conversation that everyone is avoiding. Reminds me of when Peggy Hill was struggling to say "Penis" when she was assigned sex ed.

luxintenebris said:
