Attempted Cash-In-Transit heist

Attempted Cash-In-Transit heist

StukaFox says...

Wouldn't a P-90 be a better choice in a small space like that? I mean, with an AR-15 you'd have both a limited area to swing the barrel and would be more likely to shoot your driver than the dudes shooting at you.

See, I'm Davey Crockett kinda guy. If you're gonna defend yourself, better to do it when your attacker is a few miles away and not well-shielded against gamma prompts. Also, everyone loves a good firework show, so win-win!

More evidence why Democrats are wrong. This is why you need an AR-15.

Cameron McAdoo Insane Crash To Podium

newtboy says...

It's typical in short course racing to restart if there's a red flag (serious/injury crash) on or before lap 1. I would expect that if the driver/rider can get to the starting line before the restart, most circuits would wait a short time for doctors to give the ok or not.

Very heartwarming, do they wait for anyone who falls and let them restart? Any concussion protocol rules at all?

How To NOT Use A Roundabout

newtboy says...

In theory, if people understand and follow the rules, actually yield to traffic in all lanes before entering, and have enough warning to be in the correct lane on entry....but just look at the video of this basic one lane roundabout. The chances of Americans getting it right are so close to zero as to be zero.

Maybe in 10-20 years after introducing single lane versions they could start to introduce two lane versions....I don't think we'll ever be ready for more unless they put driver's training back in public schools and make passing it a requirement for a license.

Spacedog79 said:

In theory that shouldn't happen, cars in the left lane should be going straight or turning left, cars in the middle lane should only be going straight. If they tried to go left they've screwed up, they should have been in the left lane.

BODYCAM: What Not To Say To A Traffic Cop

cloudballoon says...

"Watch her dig her own grave deeper and deeper"? All she got was a well-deserved ticket, nothing more! What grave?

I'd LOVE to know the probability of a minority who say the woman's words verbatim, behave the exactly same way as this woman under the same circumstance (even the same officer). If the outcome is exactly the same, then she can (and should!) teach the class to every driver in existence.

Put it this way: if everyone gets the same outcome as her, I'd say she's doing ALL THE RIGHT THINGS to the traffic officer.

David Cross: Why America Sucks at Everything

bcglorf says...

I know you're joking, but you aren't wrong.

As a Canadian I am pretty sick of hearing some of the very snide attitudes up here about look at us and how we afford public healthcare at similar taxation to the US. How dumb are you guys to be spending so much money on evil killing machines. snicker snicker

The thing of it is though, we spend as good as nothing on military spending by comparison, and yeah, by saving that money we get to cheap out on taxes and still afford the public health program we have. However, we 100% are earning that luxury on the backs of US taxpayers funding a military that protects BOTH our country and theirs.

We are getting a free ride and mocking the driver for spending so much on their car that we absolutely rely upon because our car is missing two wheels and the engine needs to be rebuilt and we're too cheap to be bothered.

Sure, but we got TANKS! We got so many tanks some never get used and go directly into mothballed fleets parked in the desert. What kind of excessive tank force does Canada have? *mic drop

Testing Your Metal

StukaFox says...

I was riding the bus in Paris, and all the streets in Paris were designed for anorexic horses in the 17th century and fuck you for trying to fit your fat-ass 21st century car down them -- much less a huge city bus. So we're squeezing down this street and we come across a moving truck blocking the road. I, as an America, am awaiting horns, swearing and automatic weapon fire. Instead, the driver stops the bus, turns it off, hops off and goes and has a smoke. The people in the bus were being totally French about it: not a murmur of complaint.

Two years later, I was in Canada and some dude cut off a taxi at a light. Out hops the taxi driver to confront the driver of the other car. I start scanning for my exit once pop-pop-pop / muthafuckas drop gets underway. Instead of a spray of bullets, or at least an amusing fist fight, the taxi driver shakes his finger at the guy and gets back in his cab.

I live in mortal fear of getting shot on the road in America over some stupid bullshit (this actually happened to me once: some asshole in Cupertino cranked off three rounds at my car when I accidentally cut him off). It's so amazing to visit civilized countries and see people acting decent and calm to each other.

Uber driver speaks out after passenger mask confrontation

One arrested for assault with a caustic chemical, assault and battery, and violation of the health and safety code, one expected to turn herself in on similar charges.... sounds like maybe no charges for the girl in the middle.

Update: second girl arrested for violating covid mandates, battery on a transit employee, conspiracy to commit a crime and the big one, first degree robbery! That charge alone could be 9 years upstate because robbing a taxi/uber/lyft/bus driver is a special circumstance in California that adds 3 years.

Correct. Hope this helps.

You will be driving very slowly – usually 30-40 mph on roads, depending on the normal speed limit, and no more than 55 mph on the highway.

You will need to stay close to the car in front of you in the procession – do not allow room for a vehicle not in the procession to cut in. (Emergency vehicles excluded)

Stay in line and with the procession at all times – even if means you are going through a red light at an intersection. Local traffic ordinances give a funeral procession the right-of-way, and other motorists must yield until the procession has passed. (Emergency vehicles excluded) Do not leave your place in the procession line unless there is an emergency.

The last car in the procession will have 2 funeral flags and will also have hazards lights flashing to signify to other motorists that the procession has ended and that traffic may resume.

Once you arrive at the cemetery, a cemetery attendant will lead the procession to the gravesite or chapel, and the funeral attendant will collect the flags from your vehicle.

Do not tip the lead driver.

Good question. I can’t find it in the posted rules, but if it’s like rally racing only the navigator would get to see it beforehand.
I’m fairly certain there’s not a practice round, so round 1 would be the drivers first look at the day’s course.

eric3579 said:

Do the drivers get to review the current race map beforehand or is it a complete unknown? How much and what kind of prep does each team get regarding the current course?
