Psaki Shows How To Handle "People Are Saying" Questions

newtboy says...

Following in OAN’s footsteps, Newsmax was removed from ALL DirecTV and ATT platforms today.

They immediately whined “censorship” and theorized some fantasy liberal conspiracy between ATT and Biden who personally caused this….somehow….and don’t want to think it could be because their beloved free market demanded it because they have NEVER actually made money, were given a sweetheart corporate welfare deal to give them a chance, and now that the deal is up they actually tried to insist ATT PAY THEM to keep them on air like they do the most popular networks that bring in millions in advertising revenue….and also they might be a liability when the bankrupt network has a billion dollar plus judgement against them if ATT continues to fund them.

That's great, but I have hbo with directv so hbo max comes free. I just never activated it before. I'll have to remember for the next free trial I try.

I use the privacy app when setting up new accounts and put a limit on the card of $1. That way, if i forget to cancel the trial period, i still wont get charged.

Trump Holds Rally Amid Aftermath of Family Separation Policy

The formation of the organization was announced on March 14, 2013 by Herring Networks, Inc., an independent and family-owned national video programming company owns and operates OAN and sister channel AWE (formerly WealthTV; the initialism being an acronym for "A Wealth of Entertainment"). When the network began in 2013 it had a limited partnership with The Washington Times.[1]

The network launched with the intention of targeting a conservative-leaning audience with OAN President Charles Herring telling CPAC that, “Fox News has done a great job serving the center-right and independent audiences...But those who consider themselves liberal have a half dozen or more choices on TV each day from which to get their news.”[8] Herring also stressed the network's separation of news and opinion content, with straight news reporting throughout the day and limited opinion commentary from evening talk shows, including The Daily Ledger hosted by Graham Ledger and The Tipping Point hosted by Liz Wheeler. Early advertisements for the channel touted the network's lack of commentary and focus on straight news reporting.[9] The channel was formally launched on July 4, 2013.

As of August 2017, One America News Network reached 35 million homes and had nationwide distribution from DirecTV, DirecTV Now, Verizon FiOS TV, AT&T U-verse, Frontier Communications, CenturyLink PRISM TV, and numerous regional video distributors.[10]

Seriously, though, I wanted to come back to this: the American site that hosts the One America News network hosts very few other channels. It sounds tin foil hat to say that it's Russian propaganda, but those channels include a few soccer networks, more propaganda news bullshit, three Sony movie channels and oh! what's this?

Orville: Ed & Kelly Argue About Their Past Marriage To Krill

newtboy says...

Yeah, I have it set to record too...but I'm not going to pay for cbs online, so it doesn't matter if it's good. I just hope this new business model fails miserably and they give up on online subscription tv. I already pay them through directv...WTF people?!? I have to pay two subscription rates to watch one tv network now? I refuse to pay another $6 a month for commercial tv. Screw cbs.

ant said:

Yeah. Oh well. FYI. CBS will be showing the pilot episode tonight at 8:30 PM for a hour over the air (OTA). I'll be recording and watching later to see how it is.

So, not content with the most breathtaking scenery in the world, New Zealand also has some of the most fun to drive roads, and lets people use them like this! I love Targas, and I miss speedvision (which used to show them, but was dropped by Directv).
Damn you guys, I can't take it! I'm gonna have to become a squatter in @ChaosEngine 's back yard for 6 months or so!

Comcast put him on hold until they closed

newtboy jokingly says...

I love this new series of DirecTV commercials.

I'm thinking people need to start a movement where no one pays their Comcast bill....NO ONE. There aren't enough bill collectors for them to sell the debt to and they would likely die fast. Starve the beast.

Comcast: the only reason we're not ripping you off is ...

spam television was why I cut cable in the mid 90's and turned to piracy of television.

in the early and mid 90's I worked for DirecTV and we had entire scripts to explain to complainers about commercials and also spam ranked by channel, at the time espn ranked #1 in spam. with like 10 mins of content to 20 mins of spam ratio.

We'd have these groups come in from the networks to explain to us and give us talks on marketing and such with commercials, and I finally woke up.

After I left the job to move onto working in network operations admin for ISP, I turned off pay for tv, and have been a television pirate ever since.

no commercials, no annoyances, ever. And it doesn't affect ratings, as I was on the inside and worked closely with nielson families at one point in my career. Which the ratings system is a joke anyhow. Which is why half the scifi stuff gets cancelled when it has huge support, most nielson families the ratings box is ran by the older father or mother who don't really care for the scifi stuff in the first place and would rather watch Andy Griffith reruns.

the networks of course hate me from 1996 to today non stop pirating, and thanks to companies like Western Digital who make set top box for pirates by pirates is their unofficial motto in the forums.

The WD TV live box supports all codecs normally used by pirates, it's like the vlc player of set top boxes, costs 100 bucks and will stream any downloaded video files off a shared folder on your pc or you can plug in a usb thumbdrive or hard drive. Or with added app you can install a torrent program that lets you stream while torrenting all in 1080p HD.

Cheesy Anti-Union Video All Target Employees Must Endure

cito says...

We had to go through a similar video at DirecTV.

IT was an Anti telecommunication workers of america union video where it talked about how evil unions were.

Then we had to sign a paper when hired promising we'd never join a union, and that if we did it would be grounds for immediate termination. And we had also signed over our rights for any lawsuits due to signing the Mediation clause most employers are now carrying.

those mediation clauses suck, the most famous mediation clause went before congress of a young girl went to Iraq for extra pay for Haliburton and was gang raped, then detained in a box for days she tried to sue but was never able to and courts/police/fbi all ignored her.

Senator Franken brought the matter before a judiciary committee trying to BAN mediation clauses for employers. Dunno where it went after that, but yea.

I worked there for 3 weeks at directv, we had solicitations to join the unions when we'd go to lunch people would walk up to us, eventually a bunch of us couldn't handle the stress and quit. Cause you never knew if it was directv employees testing you, cause even if you took pamphlets they'd fire you.

it was a mess....

Stop Torrenting!

kceaton1 says...

So, so, so, so, stupid... Plus once you make a media server AND have Netflix, it's near pointless to have other things.

The best secondary deal I've seen is Comcast's Xfinity which has digital phone (land line before)/cable (DirecTV before)/Internet (12/4 before, still Comcast) all together through one service. A LOT of on demand stuff both online (more online; even your iPad will work) and on the box. Adding them to one service, together, took our overall payments down 90$/month (in SLC, UT) and our Internet went to 20/8.
