Elon Musk introduces the TESLA ENERGY POWERWALL

BicycleRepairMan says...

"I'm been very impressed with Tesla as a car company, even though I've never driven or even seen one in person"

I can hardly leave the house without seeing one. Often, on the highway, I have a Tesla in front of me, and one behind. They are everywhere here, as there is 1. Lots of people who are well of, and 2.Lots of tax incentives for electric cars, (and other pros like they can use the Taxi lane) and 3. insanely high gas prices. There is also a supercharger 5 mins from my home, and a dealership 15 minutes away, So I guess that helps I want one..

Had No Idea 'Car Wrapping' Was A Thing

RFlagg says...

I'd think if I was getting a wrap, I'd want something more exciting than a plain color, some sort of graphical design.
I'm actually surprised more car companies don't offer wraps at the dealerships or with dealership partners to add more custom options to their cars. Perhaps not full wraps, but some additional graphical flair. Like the pinstripes of old...

Hand Made Beautiful Dining Room Table - The Priceless Gift

Payback says...

My brother-in-law had his own Suzuki Motorcycle dealership. He was importing bikes that came in these awesome red mahogany crates. He was kinda disgusted that it was assumed they would throw away or burn the crates. So, he made my sister a dinning room table out of the planks. Fully expandable top with a herring-bone design and zig-zag shaped inserts.

This was back when full-size VHS was the norm for video cameras, so there's no video of the build. He's kinda focused when he does that sorta thing, so there's only completed photos, no during stuff.

Driving 70 in a 35 zone... during test drive

VoodooV says...

problem is the video doesn't show anything but two numbskulls arguing. She does appear to admit to the speeding, but what's actually going to happen? Is the dealership just going to ban her from the lot?

As much as I might side with the dude, he did seem like he was trying to bait her into being more combative for the video's sake so he doesn't really come away completely clean either.

Driving 70 in a 35 zone... during test drive

ChaosEngine says...

So just to be clear, he's a salesman for a car dealership or something and accompanying this awful woman on a test drive, where she's doing double the speed limit (and presumably in an urban zone?).

I would have told her to slow down, and if she didn't. I'd have told her to stop the car and get out. And if she didn't do that, I'd call the cops then and there.

It Doesn't Get Better

Sagemind says...

OMG, So absolutely spot on. Funny as Hell.
The guy I knew in School that had the rockin' IROC still works at the same car dealership as a car salesman....

Edit: Reading this back to myself, I think I sounded like a teenaged girl just now.

How to Buy a New Car Without Getting Screwed

EvilDeathBee says...

The first bit of advice "give yourself two full weekends". Hard to do here in Montreal because.... *puts on most horrible "retard" voice* Car dealerships don't open on weekends!
What this means is you either have to go after work (they're open til 9 on weekdays), or take days off work. So it's effectively a ploy to make you rush through the process and make hasty decisions

After a Car Dealer Gets Robbed, he Made this Commercial

Disguised Jeff Gordon Takes Car Sale Person For A Test Drive

Sagemind says...

It was a complete set up and prank - The salesman was NOT in on the prank. I'm going to call this REAL!!

"...But the incident wasn’t as spontaneous as it appeared. According to the owner of the car dealership where the video was filmed the setup started long before Steve met Gordon. It was also reveled that the actual car used didn’t belong to the dealership.

Pepsi MAX & Jeff Gordon Present: "Test Drive"

“We started early in the morning,” dealership owner Wayne Troutman said in an interview with the syndicated show ‘RightThisMinute’. “Probably 6:30 in the morning that they did that video and they were there until dark that night. They supplied the car it was a very high performance car since they knew they would be going with some special tricks with that one."

Troutman praised his unknowing salesperson Steve.

"He did a great job,” Troutman said. “He fell right in to it and a lot of his reactions were very realistic because they were. Once he realized he'd been punked he settled down, but he was really hot when he came back in as you could see from the video. In fact he actually went out on another normal ride with Jeff.”

In fact Troutman added that Gordon himself had a great deal of involvement with the project.

"Jeff had a lot of input in this,” he said. “Not only to the car that was selected to the disguise to the…he actually tried to ahead of time pick the salesman he thought would be the best one to try to pull the prank on. We actually loaned Jeff a 1998 Chevy Venture Van to ride in so he looked like he was another normal North Carolina redneck."

Disguised Jeff Gordon Takes Car Sale Person For A Test Drive

Humperdink says...

That "invisible camera" was installed before they got into the car, at 1:26 It is possible the dealership was in on it and they kept the one salesman in the dark. Pretty good acting otherwise. Did he not think of leaning over and taking out the keys though?

The Race That Changed Everything

Edsel has to be one of the coolest names ever-My dad worked as a car salesman at a Ford dealership in 1960 and couldn't sell the automobile after the namesake to save his job! Total hipster car today and hard to come by one cheap.

Oklahoma Doctors vs. Obamacare

dystopianfuturetoday says...

The Koch Brothers are a pair of uber rich oil magnates that fund far right think tanks like the Reason Institute (which produced this video), the Cato Institute, the Heritage foundation. They also fund far right front groups/astroturf outfits like Citizens for a Sound Economy, Freedomworks and the tea party. They also fund far right candidates like Mitt Romney, Scott Walker and many of the 'tea party' candidates. >> ^CrushBug:

Nice try Koch brothers [snip]
Sorry pumpkin, but I am obligated to downvote this disingenuous Koch-media propaganda.

Sorry, what is a "Koch brother"? In my city, it is the name of a Ford dealership and I am pretty sure that is not what we are talking about.
