Just curious how you can tell one cyst from another? They all look the same to me.

From watching many of her 'cyst' videos she says in the description

"The "laymans" term for an epidermoid or epidermal inclusion cyst is "sebaceous cyst", but dermatologists don't use that term because it is a mislabel, and antiquated misnomer. "

erm. some of these seem to be 'sebaceous cysts' - usually the sack should be removed with the cyst intact rather than expressing the keratin first.

actually. these so called 'sebaceous cysts' should be removed as a capsule without expressing the content - if you just squeeze them out then it's difficult to differentiate the capsule and it can reform later. But at the very least the capsule should be removed at the end with blunt dissection and scizzors. The gunk is It's just fat and keratin that's being expressed - it didn't look infected at all. They are very common

Wonder why they didn't pack the wound with gauze so that the cyst heals from the bottom up and reduces the chance of it coming back.

Im still surprised they didn't open him up more to make it easier to drain the cyst and so that he could get the cyst wall out. chicks dig scars yo.

It has to be laziness...or negligence. It's not like having a cyst excised is a major expense.

I still find it amusing that for all our medical technology, we still have to drain cysts by essentially squeezing them like a zit.

Scalpel blades vary, but that looks like a 6cm one. If that helps at all. Also, on the Cyst vs Blackhead issue, since it is exposed to air and has darkened, it is still considered a blackhead.

I think when a sebaceous gland fills up like that it becomes a cyst.

Im pretty sure thats a Cyst, and not a blackhead....the last bit that came out was the cyst sack...

Seriously, if the VS community sees me as a 'pure' submitter of banal cat videos, I can't help it. However, I have sifted over 3000 videos, and I am pretty sure most of them are not cat related.
Sure, I have submitted tons of videos of cats (though I'd prefer them being about dogs), but I do that if they make me happy. And there are times when I am actually happy, and I can submit just pure ewwwwwwww because I am evil
I will keep submitting all kind of crap even in the future, believe me!
