neat comparison, but so many different brands and results it's hard to say which is "best". was nice to see the cheapest Husky did fairly well. I wouldn't attempt to hold 3000 lbs on a 1" strap though, so no need to buy the strongest. I have Harbor Freight ones that were on sale at the time, and they've held up fine for years (occasional use).

I would say we can't pick and choose on the measures some countries took. In your examples, one country is an island and the other might as well be, given that they have a DMZ with the only other part of their country that touches any other nation.

I would say our closest comparison to a nation state composed of multiple 'states' is the EU. Which, if you add up the number of their deaths in total as of now, 627,242 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA. Their lockdowns were FAR more stringent than ours, and their death total is on par. Do all of their leaders have as much blood on their hands?

The thing of it is though, we spend as good as nothing on military spending by comparison, and yeah, by saving that money we get to cheap out on taxes and still afford the public health program we have. It's fairly amazing how short the Stelliferous Era (the time period in which stars exist) is during the entire birth-to-death of the universe. This seems like a very long time, but on the universal time scale, it's not. "Matter" in the universe will exist for ~10^~125 years, or ten unquadragintillion (yes, that's a real word)

This is the equivalent (if I'm doing the math right) of the total life of the universe being a length of one mile, the entire age in which stars exist is the width of a playing card approximately one millimeter from the start.

For comparison, the atomic decay of Xenon-124 into Tellurium-124 is about 18 sextillion years (1.8 x 10^22 years), roughly 1 trillion times the current age of the universe.

Stick with what works.
Sensors are complicated, expensive, and can easily fail, timers by comparison are cheap, simple, and reliable.

Lack of flexibility, perhaps, but exceeding your sales projections by so much you can't keep up and have to outsource from competitors could be a genius (or moronic if it backfires) marketing move....if Tesla power packs outperform ones purchased from competitors in an apples to apples comparison (but one designed to favor Tesla from the start because they are in Tesla cars, optimized for Tesla batteries), they end up selling exponentially more when the new factories catch up and make a surplus. Worth it if in 5 years competitors all start buying from him.
