Throat Singing

BoneRemake says...

I was stone faced while it started up until the one minute mark where my face contorted into a smile.

I could not find a video version of the song to post ( what is this audiosift ? ) but I downloaded the song and I am listening to it now. Very much happy that I did.

Can't find a copy online with 30 seconds of searching, but my favourite throat singing is Yat-Kha's version of Led Zep's When The Levee Breaks.

I recommend it enough to make this mostly useless comment.

I thought the audio worked quite well as a soundtrack to the terrific B movie footage, although I'm also not quite sure how well it would stand alone... I might not have upvoted it as an audiosift myself (mood depending).

Can't say I'm enamored with the uh, "music" ... but there is some terrific B movie footage here =o)

I has opinions.

A music video should not be replaced with a live performance, IMO.

A live performance should not be replaced with a music video, IMO.

A specific live performance should not be replaced with a different live performance, IMO.

An audiosift with arbitrary background visuals (artist slideshow, static image, vintage footage, ironic footage, any other kind of 'filler' footage) should be able to be replaced with embeds that have different arbitrary background visuals. A short film set to a popular song would not be considered arbitrary background visuals, IMO.

It looks like you replaced a music video with a live performance, which is a no-no IMO.

This particular music video features Mike Patton in a Mr. Bungle shirt, which makes me happy. I like to be happy. Please make me happy.

A decent song to be added to the Audiosift! I hope you agree.

Make sure you read the poem to get an odd idea of how this song may be going... I've heard several interpretations of the poem (which means "dance Russian or Russian dance") from a poem about cold-war standings and precepts or that the man in the poem has killed his family before he does his little dance. But, many poems can be left up to you the reader, to determine it's final meaning and outcome. This poet was known for his slightly more morbid and ghastly leaning pieces, so death may be somewhat likely--but, it was also popular to include the leanings and political problems that were constantly on display around these writers in these times as well, providing us with yet another source of material...

Can we embed Soundcloud files to *audio please? (Music Talk Post)

gwiz665 says...

Since we already have audiosift, I don't see the problem with sifting stuff like this. If there's a olde style embed go right ahead, but if there's only iframe, then for now it's not allowed. (but it is inevitable that it will be allowed.
