Only Canadian Hockey Fights End This Way
I'm Canadian and I don't get the appeal of NHL. It's a bunch of tax-supported multi-millionaires skating around wearing the uniform of a city that they probably don't even know -- it just happens to be the one willing to pay the money they're demanding.
Except for combat sports where there's a real risk of serious injury or death, there isn't a professional athlete anywhere who is worth their paycheque. Watch school level sports to see kids who play it for the pure love of the game...
Only Canadian Hockey Fights End This Way
Grace, skill, teamwork... Hockey would be my favorite sport if it weren't for this.
Professional Hockey Players are, and let me make sure my little 'ol opinion here is clear, THE biggest fucking pussies of any sportsmen in the history of humanity.
There is some magical combination of rules, history and fan-service here that have allowed for this literal intellectual retardation of behavior in sports that is unique to hockey.
Hockey: One of Earths greatest sports.
Hockey: Earths stupidest athletes.
320 lb. Man Runs Like A Gazelle
So.... How is it these guys are considered athletes?
I mean, there aren't many sports where the audience and announcers are stunned that one of the players is capable of actually running.
In fact I can't really think of any others. Curling maybe?
Amazing Tongue Twister Rap
That was pretty amazing. It's kind of funny to see other kinds of performers breaking that human barrier in the same we see athletes and the like do so over time.
Great Commentary On First Gay Football Player Comeing Out
I really don't give a shit about sports (which is surprising as I am an competitive couchsitter of highest dedication) but holy shit, every word that man said is absolutely true and needs to be heard by everyone. Especially athletes competing in closethiding.
I don't care which team that football dude will play for but I hope they win.
Canada creates Gayest video ever
It's called shaming. Look it up. And yes, it does work. Matter of fact, psychologically, it's one of the surest ways to endure behavior. Unfortunately, we've lost that in America with teachers barred from using red ink, giving bad grades and every little league athlete getting an award.
When 90% of the worlds population is making fun of you, you begin to rethink your stance. And conversely, it's the same tactic bullies use but only in a negative way. As you said, "human nature" is to conform with a little room for individualism. People want to fit into the crowd, and when you're the only one gay-bashing, you stand out in a very negative way when everyone is either ignoring you or calling you an idiot.
(Not to mention, ads like this cause those of us who support gay rights to cheer louder thus making it harder for those beating up LGBT's to get away with their acts feeling like they did the whim of society. It's called Mob Behavior. It's also very human . . .)
You seem to have, inadvertently, illustrated my misgivings about the ad. If you honestly believe that, metaphorically, "slapping someone in the face," or calling them a "dumbass" is likely to get them to change their opinion, you know little of human nature. Personally, were I "gay" and a participant in the games, I would, like Jesse Owens, respond to the ignorance with a dignified silence, and let my abilities talk for me. Rhetoric, such as yours, and rather pointless ads, simply inflame the situation.
Elder Scrolls online: the arrival trailer
I always think of it as the "Bruce Willis" effect. Get in tight with the camera during action so no one can see your big budget star has no athletic ability.
I just assume that it carried over from film to game cut-scenes because it symbolized "action" now.
I wouldn't, how hard is it to keep a camera steady when the whole thing is CG? Made me dizzy after about 15 seconds. I can't figure out why some movies think that makes good cinematography and/or editing. I've taken to calling it "the Batman Begins problem".
Back from the dead---A soccer player shocked back to life
don't be so cunty as to tell people what words they should use. regardless of your intent, you made it sound like soccer causes the condition because of all the running around, I was stating that any high intensity sport is a danger if you have the condition as your only symptom may be sudden death. I would hate to think that you would put anyone off football due to this rare condition. Should professional athletes be screened? yes i think so and many do have at least one ECG, but this is an imperfect screening tool and its often at the amateur level that these events first happen before one might invest in a full medical work up.
Look shut up. Two people in my own family have had this disease which is why my brother can't play soccer. They both lived past 80. It isn't just the condition, it's the sport and better screening procedures need to take place.
Don't use tosh with me you sound like a cunt.
Right in the Feels
How about at the end the athletes unfurl rainbow flags and they all get arrested and thrown in a gulag.
The Most Violent Sport On Earth - Calcio Storico
Unfortunately it is only interesting when condensed into a video of this length. The usual matches seem to consist of 50 minutes of people engaging in poser brawls - then somebody remembers that he can actually run over to the other team's goal.
The lack of athletic competitiveness means that neither the fights nor the ballplay end up particularily engaging :-(
Amazing Sign Spinner + Q&A
Being outside? Being athletic? As someone who's job involves being inside and sedentary, I can see the appeal of that.
Being athletic outside on a roadside breathing traffic fumes? Not so much.
But hey, if that's what he likes doing... good for him.
Crazy Martial Arts "Tricking" Competition
Some great athletic moves here, and good tricks overall, but as far as a usual martial arts, it is hard to tell if any of them could hit their mark. Their attack directions and locations seems to be completely random and %50 of the landings failed and the person simply improvised by rolling into another move. I would be far more impressed if they had set up targets.
Blue Devils Brass Band - Space Chords = Mind Blown
A little background: the Concord Blue Devils is a Drum and Bugle Corps, which is like a marching band for athletes and masochists. They do field show competitions like the halftime marching band shows you've seen at football games, but unlike school marching bands, they have (usually) 64 horns, 24 drums, 24 color guard and an almost militaristic training regimen. They rehearse weekly throughout the year and then train and compete on the road all summer, 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, split between strength, calisthenics, music and marching. That's how they build their discipline and cohesion. I marched with their main competitor in the late 90s.
This Dancer is a Wonderful Insult to Gravity
This guy is amazingly athletic. Cool stuff. Some of it, not so much.
BUT...
This is the guy who's going to make it possible to have pole-dancing as an Olympic sport, and it's at that point that I will shoot myself in the face.
